We recently called on to bid for a job , it's a place of worship and got vandalised 4 time including damaged property, maybe related to current toxic politics, anyhow the place has hdtvi cams installed around the premises which did not capture good images in the very low light environment since the parking lights are programed to go off after mid night and some smaller lights are on.

Can any of you guys have any recommendations for good IP cams which work well in very low light giving good pictures and also can try n capture a license plate or any other identifiable properties off the vehicle entering , leaving or individuals committing these crimes.

Will appreciate any reliples or recommendations

We are trying to finish a install, and have to incorporate 4 existing Hikvision cameras, we installed a 3rd part USB 4 port dongle, and are adding the hikvision as Onvif protocol, when adding 5.4.x firmware cameras no problem, but as soon as we try to add a camera with 5.5.x firmware the geovision software will crash and restart.

Initially we though may be the cameras were defective, so we bought 2 more from local ADI, but the results were same, I contacted Hikvision support and they tried various settings but same results, so long story short they told us that Geovision has the issue in there software.

Has anyone here on the forum faced similar issues is there like a patch available, I search geovision support forums but did not find any solution.

Will appreciate any reply.

Hi all, have any one tried to watch the feed on VLC player with RTSP what is the command , I tried the RTSP command I found on Geovision forums site but it did not work, its the cloud based geovision camera

Did you find a solution to this? We just recently installed the Ruby 2 and cannot seem to get the Geovision V3E to work correctly. We tried using the same configuration from a Sapphire/Ruby but it won't work.

We finally got it working. We had to change the baud rate to 1200 and data bit to 8 on the V3E. The port has to be configured on the Ruby 2 correctly as well....it has to be set to the DVR something...sorry...we use a petroleum service to set that part up so I can't help much there.

I will really appreciate your help, which com port dose the cable goto also the cable did you use a standard RJ45 to db9 straight serial cable or did you custom made it.

Hi all,

Has anyone hooked up the geo data capture box with a VeriFone Ruby2 system to overlay the transaction data, the customer pole display is hooked to com3 which is a RJ45, I think the system is providing data and power to the pole display via the cable, I will appreciate if any one has a pin out configuration for a link where I can buy the premade cable .

I have a serious problem..

 

Yesterday I formated my PC, didn't change any hardware at all. Before the format I was able to Live View my 4 Cameras through my iPhone 4s.

 

After the format I am not able to live View by using iView, however the RPB View (recorded videos) is working like a charm.

 

I am also able to Live View through my Computer BUT not live view on iPhone..

 

Why is this? Iam getting mad.. The Ports are all open, I double checked that.

 

I tried to Disable Direct Draw but same result --> nothing

 

Please save me for one more time guys...

Hi all, i have a customer with the following equipment:

1) a computer with OS Windows Xp

2)Geovison card 600-4 V3.0

3)GV-600 software system but with this message 'trial /geovision-8F18B8' and there are a lot of options in the configure button the i can't choose there are also grey.

 

The problem starts when i setup the webcam server i try to access it via google chrome and it appears me a box ask me for ID and password.i try the password and the id but it gives me an error Access denied invalid password.even though i programming the GV-600 with no authentication remote password it still keeps asking me for ID and PAssword and get the same error again.Now when i try to access the server via Internet Explorer it appears me the box which asking me to choose compresion select as the guide says.I choose Mpeg4 and submit button and when the next screen comes i see the Internet connection options but there all grey and can't choose nothing.I made the correct fixes with the ActicveX in the internet security settings.Does anybody knows how can i come off of this problem?Also there are some questions that i have:

 

a)First of all is this a trial version i have?If yes do i have to download an upgrade in order to work the remote access thing?

b)Secondly my customers wants to see it via his Android smartphone but is there a solution because it's an old hardware and software version..

c)Also, i read somewhere that i can access the webcam server only via Internet Explorer.Is this true?

d)Finally, if it needs an upgrade which version do i have to download?According to a manual,since i have a usb dongle, i can reach up toV7.0.5.0, but there is another pdf also from geovision called compatibilitychart which says according to my hardware version which is card 600-4 V3.0 i can reach up to v6.05 software version.well what should i do??

It will only work on IE or you can download the multiview application from geovision's website

for android you have to download the app ipcam viewer it supports older version, u can try the lite version which restricts u to view 4 camers or for 3.99 get the full version

go with 7.04 version that should work without a dongle

I found they work really well for pos intergration when capturing rs 232 from printer output , has problems trying to capture from pole display , the only problem many pos systems do not do direct printing as item is scanned as default and normally has to be changed

when I use the pos option from GV-nvr and map the camera no data comes in, but occationally like after 2 or 3 mins I get a 5 6 lines of advertisment from customer display thats about it.

Yeah this is definately a card issue, as I remember going for a install and the customer did not had the software cd the card was 1480, since I had a 8.5 cd in my bag I installed that and it updated the firmware too, everything workied fine when I left next day the customer called again to say the system is doing funny thing and one of that was encoding issue with images, on a close examination we found that the card was a fake.

We are doing a hybrid system for a client, where there will be 16 analogue and 5 IP, the card we selected is a GV-1240b, my question is do we install 2 cards or just 1 card, does the 8.5.5 software gives the option of intergrating this 16 analogue and 5 IP working togeather using 1 card, ?

How would I capture Gilbarco Passport data and overlay that to te IP camera, the store has two passport registers, in the analogue solution we just use AVE VSI with serial interface cable to the customer display pole.

We are doing our first all IP install with 16 3MP geovision Dome cameras and Ver. 8.5 NVR, Dell Optiplex 790 i7, 4GB Ram, 2 x 1.5TB data Drives and one 80GB SSD boot Drive, 2 x 8 port srw208mp-k9-na POE Switchs.

I would like to know if I should go with 32 bit or 64 bit windows 7, will 4GB memory be enough, how to tweek windows 7, how easy will it be to configure the NVR, any howto links would be appriciated.

Would you please tell me what Dell computer from the Dell.com site you would purchase for the GV-1480A 16 Channel? I was told by a Dell sales person not tech that the Inspirion 620 would be fine.

We usually use The dell Optiplex Mini towers, great machines no headaches

The cheaper solution would be to use a multiplexer since GV-800 dose not have spot out with loop out, and run the output of the multiplexer to your spot monitor, the setup would be all camera output cables would go to multiplexer and the loopout from multiplexer would goto your geovision GV-800 card or you can use a geo DSP card

Yeah ports are correct as I can login from phone select camera it just at the last stage where the phone switches to the stream player, I get the error.

Hi all I would appriate if someone can help me, I have a 1480 card and was running ver. 8.3 everything was ok, I have a touchpro 2 from sprint and could watch the cameras from withing internet explorer and also on Iphone.

I updated to version 8.34 and now on my touchpro if i want to connect it will connect will ask for username password, and I can select the camera to watch, but once I do the selection the phone loads windows media player to play the stream I think and I recive the following error

streaming media

invalid parameters to play media

on my computer if i try the multiview after putting the login password, i just get the message trying to onnect to server.

even on my i phone it stopped working

I there something special i have to do in the new version of software.

Hi all,

I need help if anyone has a solution, the dvr is a DVMR Jpeg2000 based system and was installed in early 07, recently there was a robbery where the cleark got killed, the police got the video and the suspects were caught, the problem we r facing is it will burn on cds and will only burn 3 mins, worth of video it takes approx. 18 to 20 mins. to burn 1 cd.

Is there a way or software were we can directly hook up the HDD computer and extract the video files for the whole week. I will appricate any replies. this picture of the dvr is attached
