  1. I assume you mean view it from another location, not on the same LAN. You will simply forward ports 80, 4550, 5550, and 6550 to the DVR system. Turn on your "webcam server" in the geovision software (it will say WEB in the top right hand corner when activated). Depending on what type of internet connection you have simply go to whatismyip.com and use that WAN IP in IE to access your camera server from another location. A website that can walk you through forwarding ports if you do not know how is portforward.com, if your router is posted on there.

  2. first are you sure your connected to the internet connection on your phone, also I have seen where you have to start IE or MSN before accessing the cameras.......make sure you have all your regular webcam ports open (i.e. 80, 4550, 5550)

  3. i beleive it depends on how you setup the POS box, you will not be able to use the ethernet port with the software version you stated, you will need at least Geovision V8.01 i beleive maybe even 8.1

  4. Here are the SDK information for your reference, since our SDK has its own limitation on function development, if you can let us know your requirements first, then we can double check to make sure whether it can be done via our SDK. In additional, since our SDK uses two programming languages, Visual Basic 6.0 & Visual C++, it is necessary for the purchasers to have the knowledge and experiences of software integration.

This is all the info I have, anything further I would suggest contacting Geovision directly

  5. Yes I've done a setup like that before, run a usb cable into an attic connected to a hard drive, didn't ever have a problem

Just make sure you get some type of hard drive cooling device to put the hard drive in

If your going over a network, I would suggest 1000mb network for transmission speeds
