  1. Hey just read this terrible news about carl/buell..this is a terrible loss.
  2. I would say ..get a synology nas..something like 1512 or 1812..its got inbuilt surveillance software (surveillance station) and pretty good CPU and processing power for 5 - 8 cameras. but the downside is you have to pay for the licenses for each camera = $59. first one is free.. Buell's Review http://www.networkcameracritic.com/?p=1762
  3. I tried 5.1 beta on my cameras and i edited the config on my diskstation. It works fine for me. It did not work for first few times but then i have to delete everything with regards to camera and then try to do complete setup with h264 as the option and it saw the camera. I havent tried PSIA mode but yea i have sent the configuration to the Synology Tech support to get this camera added by default as it works out just fine if you edit the .conf file. I would suggest sending an email with the config to tech support by as many people so they can add that to default list as i believe 2032I is quite popular. Here is reply Hi RJ, Thank you for contacting Synology support. I will certainly pass your request along to our developers for consideration. While I cannot currently give a timeline for its inclusion, I would invite you to sign up for our eNews, here to be notified of updates automatically by email. 4. I got one of these for myself from amazon.. Being a network tech i love this crimper..and specially the connecters.. it wont let you waste one connector unless u wanna do it intentionally. lol Platinum-Tools-100054C-Clamshell-EZ-RJPRO Price: $62.86 Platinum Tools 100010C EZ-RJ45 Cat 6+ Connectors Price: $29.72
  5. This has been answered before (did you read through the topic?) Yep, sorry, I mean has anyone actually used it and seen it do anything, I have it enabled on one camera, but I don't see any adapting going on. I believe it is related to the bandwidth. From the statement above it packs the stream with multiple enhancements. So like Basic+ Enhanced + super enhanced are the 3 streams sent. If you got lots of bandwidth and on i7 pc you could get super enhanced stream..if you are on mini pc or mobile you could get basic which is decoded from same stream. Considering all three modes of video are in same stream you are suppose to save bandwidth and have the option to choose different streams rather than getting a totally different stream.
  6. Thanks !! Update: Received both my cameras and tried the upgrade via Browser. It Updated fine. No Hard Resets. Cams Rebooted by themselves.
  7. Yes it-work... Did u upgrade it Via Web Browser? or Via TFTP Method. I'm Getting my Swann Cameras delivered tomorrow. First thing I'm going to do is to attempt to update the firmware on those. So want to be sure before doing so.
  8. Does it work on the Swann's from costco? I was wondering if firmware from http://www.hikvisioneurope.com/portal/index.php?dir=Product%20Firmware/Cameras/ and ftp.hikvision.com are same??
