Difference between POS graphic Mode sender and POS data capt

You may choose from 1 of the 4 products, depending on printer mode of your POS. The 4 products related to POS: 1. GV-Data Capture V2 2. GV-Data Capture V2E 3. GV-Data Capture v1.04 (announced discontinued) 4. POS-to-DVR (just a USB dongle) If your POS printer mode is: 1. Text mode + Serial, no ethernet = use V2 2. Text mode + Serial, with ethernet = use V2E 3. Text mode + Parallel = use v1.04 4. Graphic mode = use POS-to-DVR A note to use POS-to-DVR: 1. Your POS must be Windows-based. 2. Must be able to install software into your POS system. How to determine printer mode of your POS? 1. The fastest way is to ask your POS vendor 2. Read your POS manual 3. If none works for you, you may try HyperTerminal test to help yourself. (HyperTerminal is a function that comes with your Windows XP). If the result from HyperTerminal test gives you readable texts (as seen in your receipt), it is likely a text mode printer. If the result gives garbage characters, it could be 1) your settings (baud rate, stop bit… set to run the HyperTerminial is incorrect, so reset them and try again, or 2) your POS is graphic mode.

    GeoVision Server

In short, Dispatch server is a tool to manage multiple Center V2 (and Center V2 Pro). For example if you have 5 Center V2 (not 5 subscribers but 5 Center V2) on 5 PCs, and each PC you may assign 10 clients (makes total of 50 clients under 5 Center V2 Pro). If one day one of the PCs is down (or taken way for maintenance), what happen to the 10 clients you originally assign to that PC? Basically they are out of connection and you may need to manually re-assign the clients to one of your Center V2 Pro existing in field. However, with Dispatch server, you may create all subscribers on Dispatch server, and in case you need to shut down one of the Center V2 Pro, your subscribers won't be out of connection but automatically be re-directed to another Center V2 Pro existing in field. Hope it's helpful.....

    Geovision ver 8.0

http://www.geovision.com.tw/english/4_2.asp ==> You'll see new features and improvements in v8.0. Depending on your application, following could be considered "big" in v8.0: 1. H. 264 codec 2. Privacy mask 3. Instant playback (all casino wants this feature) 4. Customized menu: When you click the Configure button you used to see a long list of features of which not all clients will use. You may make them go away from the menu now. Same as those in the Network button, for example, now you can make Twin Server, Modem... go away from menu, if you know you or your client will never use them. 5. The "evil" eye some of us may have complained -> it is gone from the software interface. 6. POS live viewer: If a customer returns to store 5 min. later questioning a transaction, you could scroll up the Live Viewer and immediately click on and play back the transaction on-screen without having to go to ViewLog. 7. The big thing in v8.0 is really the Control Center, but it is up for optional purchase since it is only useful if you will need to manage more than one DVR (actually, more than several DVRs). With this feature you could remotely configure and troubleshoot a remote DVR, say, for your client. Also it accommodates 64 channels in live and in playback, 256 channels (on four screens) depending on your VGA card. The relational I/O in Control Center is also a big leap.

    Geovision Object counter

How often does it reset? It should reset only after 2 days, if you set your "Update the Log every 2280 min.", the max. time the system counts objects non-stop for you. If you wish to compile the count result for more than 2 days, go to System Log. The result is saved as .MBD file, which you may open by Microsoft Access for further use for the result.
