  1. Which are the best and most reliable manufacturers of following list? (I'm looking for an outdoor camera, which has about 8mm or 12mm focal length. Preferably in a good image size (ca. 1200px width min). It should record with a NUC i5 and motion trigger):
  2. Are compro IP cameras any good?
  3. Precisely. They won't respond anymore. I can confirm that Amazon has a good service. I had to return a Jacket once and they paid.
  4. Unfortunately the timeframe is very unfortunate and I missed it. This might also be a problem for the credit card company dispute I will file immediately.
  5. No idea, why it isn't working?
  6. Yes, over VLC and following command: rtsp://192.168.1.34:554//Streaming/Channels/2 It say's that no connection could be established.
  7. I see the ip-cam with arp-scan now (192.168.1.34): sudo arp-scan --interface=eth0 --localnet [sudo] password for empedokles: Interface: eth0, datalink type: EN10MB (Ethernet) Starting arp-scan 1.8.1 with 256 hosts (http://www.nta-monitor.com/tools/arp-scan/) 192.168.1.1 00:22:10:82:61:40 Motorola Mobility, Inc. 192.168.1.33 00:80:3f:3a:d6:79 TATUNG COMPANY 192.168.1.34 44:19:b7:27:c2:fa (Unknown) 192.168.1.200 00:18:fe:6d:cb:3e Hewlett Packard 4 packets received by filter, 0 packets dropped by kernel Ending arp-scan 1.8.1: 256 hosts scanned in 1.451 seconds (176.43 hosts/sec). 4 responded Tatung Company is my digital TV-Box and not the IP-Cam. 192.168.1.34 (Unknown) should be the IP-Cam empedokles@empedokles:~$ ifconfig eth0 Link encap:Ethernet Hardware Adresse 08:9e:01:35:86:e8 inet Adresse:192.168.1.40 Bcast:192.168.1.255 Maske:255.255.255.0 inet6-Adresse: fe80::a9e:1ff:fe35:86e8/64 Gültigkeitsbereich:Verbindung UP BROADCAST RUNNING MULTICAST MTU:1500 Metrik:1 RX-Pakete:106463 Fehler:0 Verloren:0 Überläufe:0 Fenster:0 TX-Pakete:73674 Fehler:0 Verloren:0 Überläufe:0 Träger:0 Kollisionen:0 Sendewarteschlangenlänge:1000 RX-Bytes:90962221 (90.9 MB) TX-Bytes:16044389 (16.0 MB) lo Link encap:Lokale Schleife inet Adresse:127.0.0.1 Maske:255.0.0.0 inet6-Adresse: ::1/128 Gültigkeitsbereich:Maschine UP LOOPBACK RUNNING MTU:65536 Metrik:1 RX-Pakete:16876 Fehler:0 Verloren:0 Überläufe:0 Fenster:0 TX-Pakete:16876 Fehler:0 Verloren:0 Überläufe:0 Träger:0 Kollisionen:0 Sendewarteschlangenlänge:0 RX-Bytes:1428659 (1.4 MB) TX-Bytes:1428659 (1.4 MB) Unfortunately I couldn't access it over VLC. What's the issue?
  8. I set the IP of the camera via SADP to: 192.168.1.34 and IPv4 Gateway to: 192.168.1.1 Subnet: 255.255.255.0 However, I can't access the cam over my webbrowser via 192.168.1.34
  9. Interestingly SADP isn't on hikvision's main site anymore. I could find a link in google-search for a country specific hikvision site and installed it. What should I give for an IP / settings? I tried 192.168.1.64. Here we go again: It always reverts to factory defaults soon after (interestingly to a different build). The order of screenshots is sadp.jpg, sadp2.jpg, sadp3.jpg.
  10. I need step to step instructions.
  11. How will I do that? Will I still be able to have internet-access afterwards?
  12. Anything suspicious?
  13. Currrently I have 4 devices in the router. The notebook (empedokles), a Windows PC, a TV box and the IP-Camera with it's port injector. The camera is on (I can see the infrared LEDs). tcpdump -n | grep -v ssh in Terminal produces nothing here: tcpdump: no suitable device found
  14. Wait, won't my router (see screenshots above) not exclude 192.0.0.64? I have tcpdump installed. What do I have to do?
  15. Unfortunately that doesn't work. 192.168.1.33 is listed as Tatung Company inside the terminal and is my digital TV-Box and not the IP-Cam. What now? empedokles@empedokles:~$ sudo arp-scan --localnet Interface: eth0, datalink type: EN10MB (Ethernet) Starting arp-scan 1.8.1 with 256 hosts (http://www.nta-monitor.com/tools/arp-scan/) 192.168.1.1 00:22:10:82:61:40 Motorola Mobility, Inc. 192.168.1.33 00:80:3f:3a:d6:79 TATUNG COMPANY 192.168.1.200 00:18:fe:6d:cb:3e Hewlett Packard 3 packets received by filter, 0 packets dropped by kernel Ending arp-scan 1.8.1: 256 hosts scanned in 1.531 seconds (167.21 hosts/sec). 3 responded
  16. Hi. 192.0.0.64 won't work. I had the camera once earlier directly connected to a Mac, but no software existed. I saw there is a software iVMS-4200 linux (beta). Would it help? I don't have a server. I only have a router and the camera is connected to this router. (BTW: I'm pretty new to Ubuntu and don't understand much networking. I would need a bit more step-to-step instructions.) I attached some images of my router webadmin. Accessable over IP 192.168.1.1.
  17. So I need to disable DHCP in my router for this? The last time I did this my TV box didn't work anymore. Hence it's not something preferable. Where do I find the DHCP lease table?
  18. Zone minder currently isn't available for Ubuntu 14.04 as it stands. How do I find out about my cameras IP?
  19. Hello How do I set it up in VLC? Can you motion trigger the recording in zoneminder?
  20. Hello Is it possible to record to my own harddisk without an NVR? If so: Where are the settings for this hidden?
  21. empedokles

    iVMS-4200

Via Virtualbox? I don't understand why they just use a less complicated browser approach.
  22. empedokles

    iVMS-4200

There is a iVMS for Mac, I can watch the camera, but how come I can't record with it? What about browser options? Shouldn't be too hard to offer one.
  23. empedokles

    iVMS-4200

So is there no solution for a Mac to record video from Hikvision? It would be a bit funny to sell cameras and only support the Windows platform.
