  1. Is it possible to use this camera somehow under Ubuntu Linux?
  2. I see, unfortunately I don't seem to be able to use the cam under Ubuntu over webadmin.
  3. I saw that there is a newer firmware 5.3 available for above camera. I downloaded it on my desktop. How will I install it on Ubuntu? If I click the firmware search box in the admin inside firefox nothing happens.
  4. Hi Over Aliexpress.com Modell DS-2CD2032-I Seriennr. DS-2CD2032-I20140503CCCH463021305 Firmware-Version V5.1.6 build 140412 Cod.-Version V5.0 build 140411
  5. Hello In my firefox browser under Ubuntu Linux I can't seem to access the H264 stream. There is a selector and only MJPEG yields a small field (I have to put in the camera password again to see it). On every other selector Webcomponents/VLC/Quicktime it states Plugin not recognized. What can I do about it? And is there still no better Linux support yet for Hikvision?
  6. The Aliexpress seller CCTV CAMERA CHINA won't take my defective camera DS-2CD2632F-I back. (It never worked, obvisiously because of a defective network card). He first said I have to pay for the return-shipping to China. When I said that I won't do that (and it's not my duty to pay for their mistake) he offered to replace it with a DS-2032. When I told him, that's not what I paid for, he ignored any further messages. Definitely a bad way of treating customers: What can I do, what would you do?
  7. I can access the camera, but there is no lifeview under Unix (there is one on it's smaller brother 2032 though - is it because of the newer firmware?). I can access the image (with chinese week day) over Xeoma-application. Can I upgrade its firmware somehow? (It's an aliexpres model) and set weekdays to English?
  8. I read about FTP-access on following sheet: http://www.hikvision.com/UploadFile/image/2013082209323321094.pdf Does it mean I could get a hi-res picture (H264-mainstream-quality) directly from the cam and 25 frames per second? Can get someone familiar with hikvisions FTP capabilities yield some light into this matter?
  9. Seems not very trivial, I wonder if there is something easier possible trough the terminal. I tried: avconv -i rtsp://admin:12345@192.168.1.199:554/h264 -f image2 -r 1 -y /home/nuc/Images/test.jpg But it does only work with one shot or series, when I'd like to update only this test-picture. Avconv is an Ubuntu-fork of ffmpeg.
  10. I guess I figured it out with the two rotation screws now.
  11. And how would I mount it on the banister? It's a Hikvision varilens.
  12. As I understand the Hikvision settings, the camera sends something via its own FTP-client. Hence I believe I would need an FTP server on my Desktop, nocht a file client.
  13. II only see one axis in the middle which can go up and down or left and right, the other are not really axis, but allow to turn the rotate the camera horizonally. Hence it seems I can't mount the camera on a wall, but only on a ceilling. Well, Chinese quality.
  14. Sure: http://www.hikvision.com/en/products_show.asp?id=8722
  15. I see, but it obvisously would need to set up an FTP server on my Desktop which is rather complicated and seems risky.
  16. Good tip. Let's see, if I find some junktion box that has heavy enough walls. But what about the angle? This cam seems to have only a joing for up or down movement or left to right, but not both.
  17. Found it, but now I get lots of noise.
  18. This is fairly obvious, but Hikvisions GUI still is a nightmare to use.
  19. I've set it now to a H264 Stream I found over a website and it's much better now, still more choppy than the original hikvision liveview though. Where's that iframe setting?
  20. I get only one(!) frame per second with either Xeoma software or Motion. What could cause this? In the Hikvision Liveview I get the usual smooth 15-20 fps. Something with H264-keyframes?
  21. Well, I'm not too familiar with FTP (But I remember I used FTP client to get my website online once). What would I use if I store these pictures on my usual desktop via FTP?
  22. Where in hikvision will you set that? I see something like a timing snapshot here, but I'm not sure where it's being stored.
  23. What's 2Mp IPC? Compression? And how would you access these files?
  24. So it's considerably below 1920x1080 pixel. Is there any way to change this settings?
