  1. Hi Forum... I've got a situation where an existing cable run of close to 2,000' (rg-59 copper braid) is being requested for use for a cctv camera application. I understand that distances for analog applications shouldn't really exceed 1,000' or so... Is there an amplifier or extender available that would allow me to use the existing cable? Any one run into this in the past? Thanks, Greg Hall
  2. I am installing a camera (CCD) in a linear accelerator (linac) used for cancer treatment and have experienced the gamma ray saturation problem of the CCD. Has anyone else combated this issue? Does anyone know if the radiation is accessing the CCD chips from all angles (through the camera walls etc...) or just through the lens? I'm looking at some leaded acrylic options. Any thoughts or concerns? -Ghall
  3. Thanks for the info Cooperman... A link to the "non-browning lens" site may prove helpful. It sounds, from your response, like the majority of the exposure to the ccd happens through the lens. Do you know how critical it is to sheild the sides and other surfaces of the camera? Is the non-browning lens enough protection.
  4. Thanks for the recommendations... Unfortunately, new cable (utp) is not an option. I'll take a look at the recommended component. - Greg
