    Diffuse IR Floodlight

I got the diffuser material and tried it. Here is the video of me adding the diffuser to the front of the IR light. I stuck it right to the IR Flood, I think it would have better results if I could extend it out, but I will have to find a means of doing that. For now I think it made a bit of a difference as it is and will leave it while I see if I can figure out how to get it an inch or so away from the light. Links to the items are in the video description.

    Diffuse IR Floodlight

I actually found a 4MM on Ebay, straight from China, but free post and cheaper. I am hoping it's easier to cut and size due to the larger size.

    Diffuse IR Floodlight

That's a good idea, lemme see if I can find a place that ships to the US, it's worth a try.
  4. I am looking for some ideas on how to diffuse an IR floodlight. I installed it out front to give me more illumination than the factory lights from the IR cameras I use, but the IR Flood is too concentrated. So I was hoping I could get a couple of ideas. My first thought was to put some window tint over it to reduce the intensity of the center of the flood, but there might be other ways, like a splitter that could redirect each side of the light off to the side or something. Plus I am not sure how well window tint would work on IR. Any suggestions? This is what the flood looks like now.

    Determining Camera Lens

it will say it on the camera near the serial number.. Shoot, camera is mounted outside already That is what made me think of changing the lens to a 2.8 if it is indeed a 4MM because I am not seeing people standing close to the door. I see them walk up, but not standing at the door so they can hide and I cant see them till I look out the peep or try and review a recording real fast before I check the door.

    Determining Camera Lens

I have a HIKVISION DS-2CD2532F-I camera but i am not sure what lens it has, any way to determine that? The specs on the webpage say 4MM is standard and 2.8 and 6 can be found, but I'd like to know for sure. Thanks
  7. Nope, turning it off works for me. Thank you very much! I looked and looked and just missed that setting I appreciate it! Do you have any suggested settings for getting the most out of the camera? I am using Blue Iris as my NVR software, if you are familiar with it any suggestions on configuration for this camera I would appreciate it. Thanks again though, I really do appreciate it.
  8. Hi all, I purchased a HIKVISION DS-2CD2132-I and it appears to be directly from China. The Manual is only in Chinese and the software et cetera. I was able to get the camera running and setup, but I have a couple of questions. First off, here is some information from it. Model DS-2CD2132-I Firmware Version V5.1.0 build 131202 Encoding Version V5.0 build 131128 The display is in English and Chinese and I can't find a way to modify it. Is there a means to do that or is there a European Firmware I can flash the unit with to get English only on it? Thanks! Mitch
  9. I also wanted to add that now I am getting an message (in Chrome and IE) that says 'Main Connect Failed'.
  10. Hi all, I need some help with a Dahua IPC-HDB3200C camera I purchased. I have set it up and from home it works great. I can login, configure the camera, see the video stream and everything. But from remote locations, I can login, but I get an error message of this after I install the wecplugin.exe that it tells me to install. Image I setup my firewall to allow incoming TCP requests on port 8081 to NAT to port 80 at the IP address the camera is on. As mentioned above, I get prompted to login, it logs me in, I get the errors for the video, but I can change all the settings and other menu options, I just can't view the video. I have under System Information: Software Version 2.212.0000.0.R, build : 2013-12-06 WEB Version 3.2.1.155467 The plugin it installs is called webplugin.exe version 3.0.0.1 I am hoping someone can help me get this up and running so I can remote view it. I don't know if another port is required to be forwarded, I can't imagine it would need more than one. I have a Foscam PZT unit that works just fine and the fact that I can change settings and all that kind of just tells me there is an issue with the actual plugin. I don't know if it is not installing correctly, or it needs a port other than port 80. Any help, suggestions, links to updated firmware downloads et cetera would be appreciated. When I purchased this camera I just got it off of Amazon, not knowing that support was not offered by the manufacturer and that there was so little information online about CCTV devices. I have been doing networks and working with computers for almost 30 years and normally you can just Google something and find a solution, since others have usually had the issue before, but man, these are tough to find! It doesn't help that I live in the boonies with not a lot of places around that do CCTV stuff. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks Mitch PS. I even tried MPEG as the main stream and still get no connection and I checked my Firewall as I tried connecting and it is not denying any packets.
  11. Sorry wrong forum, I reposted this on the IP Cameras forum since this isn't an Analog camera. Sorry!

    HKVISION Dealers

Does anyone know some websites that sell HKVISION cameras? I am looking specifically for this model, but I might be getting others. DS-2CD2532-I(S)(W) This is the one with the 6MM lens. http://www.hikvision.com/en/Products_show.asp?id=9446 Thanks!

    Dahua IPC-HDBW3300

Thank you very much, just what I have been looking for. Seems Dahua could do a lot more business if they got more information out about their products, including dealers. I can manage to find their cameras here and their, but for example, the PZT Mounting Bracket they make, still haven't been able to find a dealer that sells one. And mounting information, sigh, same result. Even their website that has information on the equipment doesn't have mounting instructions or even images to give you an idea. So thank you again for the document!

    Dahua IPC-HDBW3300

I am considering getting one of these Dahua IPC-HDBW3300 and I was wondering how they mount? Do they require a mounting kit (sold separately?) or do they have another method? I can't seem to find much information about mounting them and no images to show. i am looking to get one and mount it under the awning of our walkway, but would rather know how they mount before I purchase one. Thanks in advance if you can let me know or show some images video of how to mount them! Thanks, Mitch
