  1. Just had this happen to me and I recalled reading this post. All of my motion detection settings were changed. Mind you, I did restart the Synology due to software upgrade. Any luck on figuring out a way around this? I sense I'm going to be annoyed if I have to readjust the settings every time the Synology is reset....
  2. Hmm. Weird. When I woke up today, saw TONS of recordings. Seems like the motion detection was reset from what I had it to. The area was drawn 100% and the sensitivity was 100% as well. Might be a silly question, but in my summation, if I want the camera to just use plane traversal and not motion detection, I'm ok to have the motion detection toggle turned OFF correct? I'm just making sure I do not need to leave that toggle ON so that the following tabs work. I'll try one camera with it on, and one off...see which one works EDIT: Well, I tried both with motion detection on and with it off. All to no avail. I suspect I may not be able to get this to work. I guess I'll just have to tweak the motion detection settings until I get the happy medium where I'm getting a bearable amount of false hits without missing anything....
  3. I have Chinese versions of the DS-2CD2732F-I(S), DS-2CD2032-I, and DS-2CD2532F-ISW. All have English firmware. I've been playing around with them for a few days trying to get either the facial recognition or the virtual plane traversal to work, and all to no avail. Not too sure if it's the camera not sending it, or the fact that Surveillance Station on the Synology doesn't recognize/support it. I checked the Synology support page, and it says that Alarm support is available for both of those cameras. Any ideas on how I can troubleshoot to determine if it's the camera or the NAS? I would love to be able to cut down on the amount of false recordings I get on motion detection and the idea of virtual plane traversal makes a lot of sense to me. Appreciate any suggestions! Regards, Matt
  4. I just ordered 7 Hikvision Cameras from Aliexpress. I couldn't be happier. All came packaged nicely, all with English firmware, and shipping was super fast! I ordered from Julia Li at CCTV Camera China. Communication was good, and again, shipping was super fast. I placed my order on June 9th and received in hand on June 16th in Toronto. I ordered the following: 4 x DS-2CD2032-I 1 x DS-2CD2432F-IW 1 x DS-2CD2532S-IFW 1 x DS-2CD2732F-IS All were installed yesterday and I couldn't be happier! Was quoted for 6 of the cameras from a local supplier (through Hikvision USA) and for 6 cameras (excluding the 2432) the quote was 3 times what I paid for 7 cameras!! Very happy and would recommend in a heartbeat! Cheers, Matt
  5. I figured it out. Upgraded the iVMS-4200 software to newest version and all good to go.
  6. I'm trying to login to the camera that way and it's not working. When I click on "show online devices", it shows up with an IP address of 192.168.1.23 - is that the default IP address it has? I've tried connecting to that address, I've tried changing it and connecting, all to no avail. Here is a screenshot of what I see....
  7. I don't think they have SADP for Mac. Can I change it in IVMS-4200?
  8. Hey Guys, Just received some cameras today and I'm trying to connect to them using the iVMS-4200 software. It detects the camera, however I cannot connect - keep getting "Login Failed". I've tried the default of "admin" with the password "12345" and nothing. Tried putting in the default ip address of 192.0.0.64 in a browser (Firefox/Chrome/Safari), nothing. I should mention I'm running on a Mac. I have the camera connected via POE in my own network. I thought maybe I had an IP conflict with another device, however that doesn't appear to be the case. Any thoughts? Matt
  9. First time poster here - but I've been doing my research for some time and I think I have settled on what I want to purchase, just looking for some feedback. Project: Looking at 6 IP Cameras (POE) for the exterior of my house (near Toronto). Wires have already been run and will connect to my Synology NAS so must be compatible. Goal: Looking for good image quality day/night and value for money. Ability to remote view and notify me remotely if motion detected. Based on that I think I've settled on Hikvision cameras. Camera 1 - Front Door This one is a bit tricky as the cable comes in above the door. There is a 5.5" space of brick before the soffit. I think mounting to soffit is best and won't stand out against my pinkish bricks. Soffit height is 7'10" and porch is 7'8" wide by 6'. Camera choice: DS-2CD2532-I(S). Not too sure if 2.8mm or 4mm. Leaning towards 2.8mm to be safe. Camera 2 - Above Garage Looking here to cover the driveway, but I'm a little concerned about a blind spot directly below the camera. Would likely mount to the soffit (would have to hide wire for about 4-6") which is 10'4" from the ground. Thinking that a VF lens camera will be best functionality wise in case want to change in future. Little worried about the proximity to the light... Camera choice: DS-2CD2732F-I(S) Side Door / DR Window / Backyard x 2 Maybe I spent too much time researching the first two that I just made the same call for the next 4. All of these are mounted at a height of about 7' to 7 1/2. I'm a little worried about tampering at that height, and I think that performance at night would be a priority. Camera choice: DS-2CD2032-I at the 4mm. I've attached a few pictures for reference and would love to hear some of your thoughts. I won't be installing myself, will likely hire someone to install for me, however I'll do the configuring. Really appreciate the community advice here! Regards, Matt
