have you set up a static ip address on the dvr and set up the port information for port forwarding as shown from page 60+ in the manual "network settings".

looking at the spec of the camera it uses max of 5w and its a 12v dc camera. the calculation for the current is: current = power divided by volts, so current is 5/12 = 0.416amps so if your supply is good then 0.55 amp should be enough for the camera. have you measured the actual voltage present at the camera when the lights kick in, if it drops down to 10 v or so it could be down to small wire size and voltage drop across your supply cable.

ref the first unit- I am sure I recently came across one complete with operators manual- but this did not provide any useful information regarding a manufacturer, think its just a generic unit probably from China.

Looking for a new test monitor
jazzar replied to jordanb's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
ref Idaho man. I have the 2nd item type of unit that you refer to. my preference would be to have as large a screen as possible to help focus cameras etc or view high frequency distortion etc which may be difficult to view on smaller screens. There is a number of different models- I remember seeing a table indicating the differences. I Have the 896 model I think which has the fibre optic measurement option. I think I searched for 11 in 1 test monitor to get this function-the unit also has a digital multimeter which is handy. I am well pleased with mine only issue I have is the video measurement seems to be out, when showing a good balanced signal it reads 1180mv instead of 1000mv. -
Help with my rubbish cctv box please and network :(
jazzar replied to ivorbiggun's topic in Computers/Networking
if using internet explorer with windows 7 or 8 you could also try selecting the tools cog, and select f12 developer tools and select ie9, 8 or 7 mode and see if any of these work. also try selecting internet options-security tab - custom security level and enable the java settings under scripting to see if that helps. -
how to use dahua HFW4300 "NAS" option
jazzar replied to scottWel4's topic in General Digital Discussion
sorry thought that the unit was a DVR not a camera. I would have thought that if the camera was getting attached to a NAS unit that the file types would be the same as the camera video output ie h264 video or mpeg video or whatever it is set to send over the network. -
how to use dahua HFW4300 "NAS" option
jazzar replied to scottWel4's topic in General Digital Discussion
I think that this just extends the storage capacity of the main unit and will record in the same format as the main unit if h264 or mpeg etc. -
speco RS series DVR refusing concurrent connections
jazzar replied to mountainluau's topic in Digital Video Recorders
Is there somewhere in the settings a Number of allowed connections ? -
have you set up port forwarding for port 90 to the second dvr ? you can use "canyouseeme" and select port 90 to see if it is open on the router also to make sure the coms path is clear. maybe give you a clue.

I think that most NVR's that use discover devices use the MAC address to find their own models of kit on the network (the first 3 octets are unique to a manufacturer) some also allow you to add in ip addresses of other manufacturers if they allow onvif type devices to be used on the NVR for example. As the packets of data are sent around the net the ip addresses are stripped off and the data is forwarded via the MAC address from point to point. You are getting into the root level of network transmission and the OS model to understand this. Plenty of online self learning info available- and university courses that last up to 5 -7 years to get qualified to the N'th degree in the technology so only the basic concept can be given in a short answer.

Need Multiple Smart TVs to view IP camera system network
jazzar replied to afhuss's topic in Computers/Networking
Don't you have a client network viewer program for viewing the NVR cameras- allowing multiple pc connections to view images ? if you are going to display CCTV images in public areas on smart tv you need to be aware of the legalities of this- generally public should only be able to see on CCTV screens what they can see where they are standing ie at the front of a store entrance you see yourself on screen - that's fine because you can view this area with your eyes. You don't view the rear delivery area- this would be a breach of the code of practice- possibly country dependant. -
IndigoVision 8000 transmitter/receiver association
jazzar replied to jc_pacc's topic in Video Transmission/Control Devices
You access the receiver via web browser and point it to the IP address of the Transmitter that you want to decode. Effectively creating a point to point link. -
nice one numb nuts- I too have had a few mishaps- coming down a loft ladder and just behind the ladder the floor stepped down a level- which I forgot and came down full force with my wee pinky toe- turned out it was broke- but only found this out after gong to A & E 6 hrs later once the job was finished- that's dedication. Enjoy your xmas season.

having issues with Noise/waves when using centralized power
jazzar replied to BrownChiLD's topic in General Digital Discussion
you need to measure the voltage that is present at the camera, the small core size of the twisted pair cable will have more resistance which will cause a voltage drop across the length of the cable. you might only be getting 10v or 9.5 volts at the camera terminals. usually these type of injectors are designed for 48v dc ip cameras which will generally operate from 24v to 48v and will handle the voltage drop across the cable. If your voltage is low at the camera terminals then this may be part of your problem, you could easily try hooking up a 12v battery locally at each of the camera ends and see how it goes. Siamese cctv cable (co-ax with two core attached power cables for 12v or 24v supply) are usually a bigger cable gauge to provide less voltage drop. maybe this will help. -
have a look at the veracity range- veracity longspan. see if its any good, think from memory good for 300m.

sounds like your network is getting overwhelmed. you are probably going to need someone with network expertise. can you work out the bandwidth that the cameras are using at each section of the network ie if the streams are all set to pump out 25 pics per second at a high resolution setting then you could have a bottle neck for the data at some point in the system, possibly where they all come together., more data will be used if the cameras are 2megapixel or 5 megapixel devices. Could you drop the frame rates / resolution down if they are all set to max ? Try and have a look at the settings for each camera, take a note of them, then google dvr bandwidth calculator or similar- you should be able to get an idea of the bandwidth required with the settings you have taken note of. You could break this down for each part of the network and particularly at the point where the data gathers towards the core switch you can use wireshark - network analyser - to capture some info and see if anyone can help by looking at the captured data, this maybe point you in the right direction for a fix. Are the NVR'S capable of supporting all your cameras if they are all set to max - and how may clients are viewing live video ? The pc should be left more or less to run the security devices- a decent spec pc should handle this task- check the specs see if it has plenty of process power and ram installed. Could the pc be running some services like windows updates or antivirus scans disk checks etc which could be tying up process power, if so is it possible to disable these to see if it makes any difference. don't think there will be a silver bullet fix for this- maybe a bit of everything required. Good luck.

IP Camera can be set to send say 25fps, this allows the viewing pc to view at this frame rate, however you can set the recorder to record at a different frame rate say 5fps - so that hard drive size can be reduced for recording. But this cant be reversed ie if camera is set to send 5fps then the max that can be recorded would be 5. maybe also depend on your type of system as to what you can do reference frame rates.

unable to view live footage over either local or remote.
jazzar replied to Enduser72's topic in Computers/Networking
everything looks good from what you describe, I have had problems with viewing video on cameras and its been down to ie11 browser settings stopping active x component from loading - this is required to allow images to be viewed. Thin its under advanced settings under internet options.- sure there is info on this in this forum. -
to change the qube IP on 10.1.1.x you need to set your pc/laptop to the same range. to assign a static IP to your pc see:- http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/19249/how-to-assign-a-static-ip-address-in-xp-vista-or-windows-7/ once you set the pc to the same range you should be able to connect to the qube and then change its ip address. once you have done the change remember to change your laptop / pc back to dhcp or the address before you changed it. you may have to rebbot the qube for ip change to take effect.

you should be able to set the router ip to the 10.?.?.? range., see my snip attached showing network settings of my router- you can edit and change to suit.
-
have you checked the network settings page to see if other ports are required for streaming video or data control- if needed add them to the router for port forwarding also.

best I can get out of this, am I expecting to much?
jazzar replied to jagbuilt's topic in Security Cameras
have you provide swann with your video and info for a response from them ? Maybe they could give you some input. -
for fstop info see :- http://www.uscoles.com/fstop.htm looks like your smaller f value will double the amount of light. If its on a decent camera -the camera should have an AUTO IRIS facilty which will open and close automatically for the camera to work in bright and dark scenes.
