  1. Now that the girlfriend won't let install anymore more security cameras (8 HK and 5 illuminators) - I am moving onto home security within our house. The house is prewired at the doors and the windows but the wires are unterminated down in the basement... I thought some folks on this forum might be able to point me in right direction for home security forums - some research, forums, discussions, etc. Here is what I am looking for: * Home Security Control Panel that has ethernet capability and ios / android apps * Wired solutions for windows and doors (not looking for any wifi capability) * A mid to higher end solution From some initial research looking at the Honeywell Vista line - but really trying to get more feedback, opinions, and some recommendations. Thanks!
  2. Hikvision iVMS v2 seems like a better interface but I am given up trying to get the PCNVR feature working in it. Instead I have gone to iVMS PCNVR v1.3 and got that working today... If anyone got Hikvision iVMS 4200 v2 working as a PCNVR - would love to see how you set it up. Thanks!
  3. Just curious rough cost for ACC Server 6 enterprise - upgrade cost per license? Thanks.
  4. Hey folks - I just installed one of the HK indoor "cube" cameras to watch some home remodeling work that needs to be completed... But looking for a cheap housing that will protect the housing from any dust (specifically refinishing the hardwood floors). The project is only 1 week - and the camera will be located in an upper corner of the living room. I was even thinking about placing a piece of plastic - maybe taping up plastic wrap around the cube but I thought that would result in crappy video. Or maybe a hard plastic cut down to size in front of the camera in the corner. Any thoughts? Thanks!
  5. Anyone get these to work in Windows 8.1? I don't have a problem in Win7 or Win8 - but for some reason I can't get them to run in Win8.1. Tried all the compatibility settings - but no luck.
  6. Hikvision camera and have set-up several other cameras on home network... But on my last camera (# - I can only access the camera via IE but not chrome? Standard IP address, verified the ports are opened, etc... More of a nuisance since I use Chrome and I don't access the camera web interface very often. Regards!
  7. Hi folks - can anyone recommended a 24V Power Distribution Unit? Here is the one I am currently using - but having some "quality" issues: 24V AC 200W CCTV PTC Fuse Distributed Power Distribution Unit Power Supply Box for Security Cameras: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00NBDEN9M?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00 Some high level requirements: Input: 120VAC, Output 24VAC 8+ channel output 8+ AMP capable UL certified would be nice. Thanks!
  8. I know we can set-up external notifications (email) on the ACC Client - but I don't think there is a way to set-up external notifications on the ACC Server? My set-up is a central server, ACC5 Server and Gateway running, and a handful of separate clients connecting to the server. I am less concern if 1 client loses the connection to the server - but very concerned if the server shuts down, loses connection to a camera, etc. Is there a way to set-up external notifications on ACC5 Server? Thanks!
  9. Hi Folks - doesn't seem to be many questions around ACC - so I will ask some newbie questions wrt ACC5. Microphone sound via ACC Mobile? Avigilon has confirmed that microphone sound (at least via Hikvision) will record on ACC server - but won't play thru ACC mobile. Any insight on why not since the server is recording the sound. Notice of ACC5 Server / Client upgrade version available? I'm surprised the ACC server nor the ACC client notify me that there is an upgrade available for download. Is there a way I can enable this versus me checking the avilgion.com site every few weeks? ACC5 recording schedule. Can I set a different recording schedule for the ACC5 server versus the Hikvision camera recording schedule? Here is my situation: * I can only set the motion detection sensitivity in my HK camera to 80% - without going to 100%, constant record * However there is a function in HK SW where I can select to record 30 secs before the event; and 2 minutes after (other time limits available) * HK internal SD card is capturing this "additional" time - however the ACC5 server is only capturing the motion period - without the "additional" before / after motion time. * Any ideas on how to change this within ACC5 Server? Thanks!

    ACC5 SW Questions

Thanks thewireguys! The Alarm pre / post recording is working great!

    ACC5 SW Questions

Question - will the pre and post recording via the Alarm event show up in the camera recording video timeline as well? Or will the pre / post Alarm event recording only show up in the Alarm "tab"?
  12. I had the exact same issue earlier in the year and filed a bug with Hikvision. They had me go thru the typical fixes - re-install your graphics driver, re-install iVMS 4200, try a different monitor, etc - but nothing worked to fix it. They stated "they might fix this in a future release" - but I couldn't ever find a fix to the issue. That is when I switched to Avigilon...

    ACC5 SW Questions

I be must slow today - here is camera -> camera set-up The closest I could find is Manual Record. This has a pre-trigger record time but max value for me is 10 secs. :/ I went thru all the other camera set-up options but couldn't find anything else.

    ACC5 SW Questions

Sorry I should have type the version number as well... ACC5 Enterprise 5.6.0.22
  17. Why do u use ACC5 and IVMS 4500 at the same time ? Hi. For remote usage with the microphone and speaker capabilities with the HK cameras. I'm not sure if I can enable these via ACC Mobile. :/

    ACC5 SW Questions

I'm probably looking in the wrong place to enable these features. I am looking at ACC mobile and can't figure out how to turn on a microphone feature. I know this works since I can do this via HK iVMS 4500 and the camera webGIU. But can't find this in the ACC mobile app. I am running ACC5 Enterprise - but can't find a screen where to set / change the pre and most motion detection. But this is via ONVIF interface to the HK cameras. Thanks for your help!
  19. Definitely can use HK iVMS 4500 without HK server. I have been doing that for several months now... My set-up: 8 HK cameras, ACC5 Server, and HK iVMS 4500.
  20. My current set-up is Hikvision cameras with ACC Client + Server - and loving it. I still use the Hikvision iVMS 4200 for mobile devices and the other day my server crashed while I was away from home - but still was to use the iVMS 4200 since it interfaces directly to the cameras. That got me thinking - for Avigilon cameras - is there a way to access them directly if your ACC server goes down? I was thinking one day I might upgrade to Avigilon cameras - but curious if folks have solved this usage model. Thanks!
  21. https://youtu.be/cjnhMGjiQL4 Hi Folks - really haven't had to really use any night time footage yet for any specific analysis - but last night we noticed some yahoo person deciding two of our tree branches were too much in folk's way. My question is - for night time vision - is the quality of the video basically as good as it gets? For normal user usage - not NSA quality. The set-up is a Hikvision 5mp camera and Raytec illuminator. Also - his face seems to be "washed out" in the video when he looks directly at the camera - making it harder to get a detailed picture. Is that normal for night time vision due to IR? Thanks!
  22. I believe the coverage angle is 80 degrees - and I can change the filter to 120 degrees if you think I need to widen the coverage area - but will that help reduce the "hot spot" area in the middle? Any recommendations on the camera settings that I should play with to get a more balanced picture? Right now I am using the default Hikvision camera settings...
  23. You should be able to pull 2 main and 2 sub-streams. I have pulled 2-3 main and 2-4 sub-streams on my Hikvisions cameras (different model though) Do you have more than 1 HK camera? I am wondering if this is happening on all your cameras? What is your resolution, bit rate, etc settings? I am thinking you might be at the max "horsepower" for your camera CPU and that is why it can't keep up.
  24. Of out curiosity - how many streaming are you pulling? I thought I read somewhere the HK cameras can support up to 6 streams... And I presume you don't want to use the HK Stream Server module (part of iVMS 4200)?
  25. Problem Statement: ACC5 doesn't successfully launch every time when computer is turned on. Background notes: * Remote viewing system (laptop), hard wired to network * About 10% ACC5 client doesn't successfully launch * Auto login to site enabled Temporary Work Around: * Launch Task Manager and kill the ACC background process. No ACC app listed, just background process * Re-launch ACC5 client. Thoughts?
