  1. Sorry if this is in the wrong section. Not sure where else it would go. Anyways, my car gets keyed from time to time. I'm getting fed up with it. It usually happens at work and sometimes I suspect at the gym. I'm looking for to use two cameras, mounted inside the car pointing outwards looking through the windows— front and back with the intent of catching anyone in the act when the occasion arises. Its got to be something I can leave out for at least 8-10 hours as well. Any ideas? Suggestions? Methods? Recommendations for a camera?
  2. Okay. Here is my first trial of leaving the cam outside the car. 4DCJOcxxVww The footage is nice, though, someone parked their car in front of the camera an hour later, blocking some of the view from my car. Most of the footage I got that day were trees moving in the wind, and some people walking by. A concern though is the trigger speed being too slow. Most of the footage I got of people walking by were already like 3/4 quarters past the screen at the :01 second mark of the video. Unless there is another setting to make the trigger speed quicker, the sensor level was on high. And of course, leaving the camera out in the open, I had to check back up on it every so often. I'm going to try and hide it deeper into the bushes next time.
  3. PIR won't work through glass Why not strap it to a nearby tree or building? Unless you live in a apartment complex or HOA It's possible I could strap it to a tree except it would be tedious strapping it on and off for everyday at work (but worth it). Though, I am worried about the camera itself getting stolen. I mean, I don't want anyone to know it's there, so I'd have to set it up and take it out when no ones looking. But setting the camera outside the car would indeed produce the best footage.
  4. Well. I've had the camera for about 3 days. Got to play around with it a bit. Problem: the camera doesn't seem to trigger from motion through glass.. I have the camera setted up by strapping it to the passenger headrest. I have the motion sensitivity on high. Leaving the camera on for 8 hours, away at work, the only footage I get is: be adjusting the camera and turning it on in the beginning and driving in my car. It has never triggered or anything outside the car (glass).
  5. Pulled the trigger on this:http://www.amazon.com/Bushnell-Trophy-Camera-Vision-119576C/dp/B00AU6DZZG Will try it out and order a second one if it works well. Hope to catch these b words in the act. Why is it usually they that do this anyways?
  6. I see. I'm about to pull the trigger on that Bushnell, or a dashcam w/ hardwire kit recommend from that dashcam forum. I'm more inclined to go with the Bushnell though, because it's cheaper and requires no wiring. Both should be able to do the same things right? (for my purpose of leaving it on motion detection)
  7. So I think it looks really good, easy to use and long battery life makes it excellent, however in a review I read it has no night-vision. Which means two things. I need a camera w/ night-vision or park somewhere with some light.
  8. Interesting but how could I leave that in my car recording? Haha yes I'll defininently post a vid if I get them. I have at least 3 suspects
  9. Jesus. 1 year battery life I'll look into that.
