  1. summary: according to calculator, will need 40TB for 30fps or 10TB for 7fps. Assuming there is already a server for running the point of sale, do I need a dedicated server for the video backup storage? If so, about what specs? What brand/model hard drives do you suggest? What kind of hard drive rack enclosure do you suggest? details: I've done consumer IT and video but never enterprise, so this is foreign to me. With price being a major factor, what do you suggest I use for backup/redundancy. Doesn't have to be offsite, can be in the same rack (As is the case with our other stores' systems) rack mounted dahua dvrs for a total of 80 cams, 60 days storage, with about 16 hr a day recording Director of IT wants me to give two proposals, one at 30fps one at 7fps. Realisticaly, will be having some cams 30fps (cash registers) and most others at 7fps thanks for the help.
  2. 80 cameras (non-hd) for a retail facility. I think they're all analog, and they all terminate in a single big bundle of coax, ready to connect to equipment. WHICH EQUIPMENT? Need to have redundancy and a couple months recording time, with ability to save clips of the occasional incident for a couple years. cheap and reliable- seeking best value. suggestions appreciated!
