What ports when you have two Geovision webservers?
ezCCTV replied to Forestarius's topic in Geovision
Yes both systems need unique ports for all WebCam ports. -
PM sent to olafak with test server IP.

Do you mean SSView V2 (java)?

If you are running a Windows Mobile 5 or 6 device, then you need to do the following. You need to have your PDA connected to your PC for this. 1. Install Microsoft PDA Viewer V2 from the GeoVision DVD 2. You should be able to finish the installation on your PDA now, check the screen. 3. Make sure you are running WebCam, click on the Mobile tab, and tick the box. Make sure that you have port 8866 forwarded through your router.

What hardware version card do you have?
-
Make sure that you have "Camera Mapping PTZ Dome" set up correctly. When starting the WebCam Server go to the Video tab and Click on "Allowed PTZ Camera" and tick the camera number of your Lilin dome.

As long as it is the 32 bit version, and it is a recent card that will support GeoVision software 8.12 or above, then you will not have any problems.

CMS can connect to any GeoVision system (Version 8 and above) and give you the following: Remote DVR Enables remote configuration of a GeoVision System. Give you access to 90% of GeoVision configuration. It is as if you are sitting in front of the system. Remote Desktop Gives you complete access to the PC running GeoVision. You could use this for problem solving, configuration, training, backup or software upgrades. Matrix You can display up to 64 cameras from multiple systems in one view. You can have 4 of these views on multiple monitors, a total of 256 cameras on view at one time. Remote Viewlog Just as in the WebCam version but it can view more cameras, from more systems. CMS basically brings all your GeoVision systems under an umbrella. It makes several GeoVision systems operate as one. If you had a site that required multiple GeoVision systems to cover the premises, I would recommend having the GeoVision systems in a secure location, with a PC running CMS in the Security office.

This is due to problems cloning the DirectDraw layer. I always recommend people use a VGA splitter cable, as this gets rid of the problems quickly and cheaply, without having to fiddle with the settings for ages.

What resolution are you recording in, I think you can only record audio in a couple of resolutions with Version 7. Try changing the resolution to 640x480 SW, under Video Source.

I'm not sure what you saw, but these do not exist.

Even in Safe Mode you need to have access to the Token file, which is password protected. With regards to having access to the system, and unplugging power etc. this is true for all DVRs. You cannot forget about physical security when dealing with a DVR system. The systems we build are designed to always be powered on, set in the BIOS. If the power fails, and there is a UPS, the UPS battery will be used. As soon as power returns, then the unit will power back on (If the battery did not last through the disruption of power). With Keylock used, and a reasonable level of physical security on a system (e.g. a locked room) then the system is secured.

My boss has been working on a solution to help keep installs as tidy and organised as possible. Some people fear about the weight of coax cables pulling on the back of the GeoVision card. The flying leads can often get tangled, and it can take a while to find a camera input if not labeled correctly. We are going to be releasing the first of these devices at the end of the month. Please have a look at the spec sheet below that I have managed to get hold of, and let me know what you think. There are going to be several versions of the device, one including built in Ground Loop Isolation, and one with built in Surge Protection. I welcome any suggestions or input you guys can pass on, as who knows GeoVision better than the people installing it! The final product will be screen printed and have numbered camera channels. http://www.ezcctv.com/james/ez-16-cam-dist.pdf

Could you PM me the details of how you can get around the Keylock, if this is the case, then it should be brought to GeoVision's attention. If people have the correct permissions set up on their user accounts, then you shouldn't have any issues with people deleting files. (If Keylock is on, and they cannot access Windows Explorer) All our systems are left running Keylock, so as far as I am aware, the user's cannot gain access to Windows to delete them through Explorer. They can only delete them through the Viewlog then. All events deleted through the Viewlog are logged.

Hope this helps, something I made for our installers.

Did you have any cameras connected to the card, when you were testing it?
-
Secureconcepts: You can lock the DVR with desktop but not that difficult to break. So someone could delete recorded files. Do you mean the GeoVision Keylock utility? How long do you wish to keep video files for?

Remote Playback over IE
ezCCTV replied to destro_23's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
You can do this with GeoVision cards. -
What is the spec of your system? What codec are you using to record? The H.264 Codecs use alot more CPU cycles that the other MPEG4 based codecs.

The better SSDs don't suffer from the limited writes. We have an Mtron 16GB SSD with Windows installed. Page file and all logs written to partition on HDD. Speed looks good. We are just investigating the benefits of SSD drives at the moment. As I find things out I'll be sure to let you know.

All I can say is give it a try!
