This is due to the ATI motherboard chipset. I have not seen any ATI chipsets run GeoVision successfully. The Intel chipsets are the safe option to go for. We have been using the Intel 945P chipset successfully for several months. See the sticky in the GeoVision forum for the latest PC Spec test sheet from GeoVision, this lists all the hardware tested successfully by GeoVision.
-
GV-250 cards can also run all versions of software, unless it is extremely old Version 1 board etc.
-
You can find the latest PC specifications tested by GeoVision below. http://www.ezcctv.com/attributes/cmplx_knwldgbs/filename/GeoVision-Suggested-PC-Specification.pdf

EZViewlog500.exe is the autorun application on any GeoVision Backup CD. Its a version of the Viewlog that installs GeoVIsion codecs if they are not present.
-
I always recommend that people use the proper backup method and create the CD with EZViewlog on it. This has the codec, the full player, and the Watermark verification tool.

How do you turn off Geovision Watchdog reboot in version 8.
ezCCTV replied to bobbyo's topic in Geovision
There is an option in the main GV software on version 8.1, which should be out soon. -
If you have a look at the card itself, what version is it, it should say near the bottom of the card near the PCI connector.

I think kensplace is on the money. GeoVision PTZ addresses are often 1 less for Pelco cameras Therefor address 0 (camera) would be GeoVision address -1 If you change the address to 1 (camera) then the GeoVision address should be 0 Hope this helps
-
That camera should work fine. You will need a GV NET card to communicate with the camera, and some 2 core cable running to the camera for telemetry. The GV NET card will require a free COM port on your GeoVision computer.

If you have a GV-NET IO, you can get GeoVision to trigger an Output (Siren etc) if a Video Lost event occurs. This can be dound under Configure > I/O Application Setting Video Lost Trigger I/O From here you select the output you want to trigger in event of Video Loss
-
In version 8, you can simply go into the Configure menu and select "System Idle Protection Setting" select "Monitor All" and set a specific amount of seconds. You can also get it to logout the Supervisor and login with a specific user account.

GV Remote View: (I guess this is installed on a workstation to remotely access the GV server) Correct GV IP Multicast: ? Ran on the GeoVision System, with this running on a LAN, you can use the Remote View client to connect to any GV system on the network, without knowing their IP addresses GV Center V2:? A monitoring station or Head Office could have a computer running V2, upon an alarm event (motion during certain periods, I/O activations or panic buttons) video can be sent from the GV system to the monitoring station. GV Fast Backup & Restore Mulitcam system:? With this application you can change the logo used by GeoVision. Backup and restore system settings. You can also remove features from the system, to de-clutter the interface. GV Local DDNS Server:? Dynamic DNS for a local LAN GV Authentication Server:? Global Password Server for GeoVision. GeoVIison servers can be configured to get their user accounts and passwords from a networked PC. GV Dynamic DNS Service:? Dynamic DNS service client ran by GeoVision GV Remote Playback Client Site:? The next version of GeoVision 8.X should support widescreen desktop resolutions nativley.

The GV800 has 4 channels of audio, opposed to the GV250's 1 channel of audio The GV800 also has the AGC (Auto Gain Control Feature) which can be quite useful in getting a good clear picture.

What network services do you have running when the GeoVision DVRs are on the network?
-
This was taken from the Merit Lilin PIH-7000 Manual. I suggest you call your PTZ supplier, or Merit Lilin direct, as their support is very good
-
Please see the image below. If you have the top image, then you can run 24V over 2 core cable or using CAT 5. If you are using the version with a clamp i.e. 90 - 260VAC, then I imagine this will be mains power, not be be run over CAT5!.
-
You could leave the GeoVision system logged in as a user, with access to all cameras, except the PTZ. You could then login to the system whenever you want as supervisor, and move / view the camera. You could also move the camera over the network / Internet with the webcam view.

POS text displayed in video but not on live screen
ezCCTV replied to framespersecond's topic in Geovision
I have not experienced you problem before, have you tried updating to 8.02? Also, I would try removing the POS, and instaslling it again under POS Device Setup. -
The PDA application GView is compatible with Windows Mobile 5. What problems are you experiencing. Have you ticked the "Create JPEG" box under WebCam Server Setup?
-
The original version of the Data Capture supported Parrallel printers. The V2 of the Data Capture dropped this support. I have heard the the V3 of the box will once again support Parrallel printers, but this has not been confirmed to me.

how tot associate audio to a particular channel in GV
ezCCTV replied to 313-313's topic in Geovision
Audio Channel 1 is associated with Video Channel 1 etc. What GeoVision card do you have. It may be that is you have a GeoVision card with a separate audio board, that it is not connected properly, such as a GV1480. -
This can be done with the Remote Playback Server, and the Remote Playback Client. The Remote Playback Server is already installed on the GV system, you just need to run it from the start menu. The Remote Playback CLient is installable from the GV CD. This program uses port 5066, so make dsure that this port is open and forwarded.
