  2. I have a Nuvico CD-SD21N installed and the picture is horrible. What can I do to help clean this up? Thanks!

    Help with CB-SD21N IR

Rory, I'll have to swing by to see if there is condensation building on the lens. The wires are RG59. FYI the cameras shipped with Silica packs installed inside and I left them in there.

    Help with CB-SD21N IR

Rory, Thanks for the reply! The wiring is siamese cable. Currently there are only 2 of these cameras installed and both do have the same symptoms but never both at the same time. They are connected using BNC/12V DC and they all go to 12V power supply and geovision PC. I havent been in the place while they looked fogged up so I havent been able to see if its condensation but one thing I can tell you is the fogginess is gradual. It starts in one spot and then gets bigger with time.

    Question/Recommendations for a sports bar.

I love this board! Thanks for the tips. Unfortunately they want color hence the reason I asked for color cams. They currently dont want the Text overlays but they want to be able to add it later. Since their registers are Micros(they use a propreitary interface on the recipt printer/poles...) the only DVR that I know of that integrates with those systems is the Geovision. I had looked into Video Insight before when I was approached by another place but I havent looked at them recently. I actually installed an AVatrix system in someones house. It was nice to use CAT5 for everything even though we still ran RG6. This bar already had component cables ran to all the locations(from previous owner) so I ended up installing 2 Autopatch's 1YDM. I've used them in alot of installs and they've always been rock solid.
  7. Long time lurker I have used this board for info previously but now I have a job that requires I provide some information. I have a client for which I do a lot of data/cabling work for. They recently opened a sports bar and asked if I would put in a cctv system for them. I had suggested that they go to company that does this on a daily basis but they refused so I am in the process of designing the system. I have done a couple of small cctv/systems for friends at their home/business and I have done alot of structured wiring/home automation so I am not completely helpless. I am looking at building a Geovision PC to connect to 7-8 cameras. The reason I decided on the geovision was they use a Micros POS system and they are the only company that I know of that integrates with that equipment. The bar is approximately 20Wx100L and the whole front is windows other than than that there are no other outside light sources. At night the light is dimmed about 1/5 but its not dark because they have 15 large flat screens on all the time playing either ESPN or sports related DVD's. At night I can easily see people faces from 20ft away. I was wondering if there was a color dome cam they would provide a good picture in color during business hours day/night yet when they close the place down then cutover to say B/W as then the TV's will be off and there is very little lighting on (exit signs, street lights from outside and maybe one light in the middle.) I am hoping for recomendation for a camera thats no more than 250. Thanks in advance!
