why not hide DVR or NVR in attic??

I am quite not understanding this? for example Lorex NVR has 8 network ports, I am thinking all cameras cat5 cables directly connect to NVR? I am not correct? But in your words we can connect cameras cat5 cables to switch and switch to router. from there is to NVR (everything in the single network). Is that correct?
  2. Why not hide DVR or NVR in attic? Everybody says attic will be so hot and dust and DVR age will drop half. But just thinking, If I buy a DVR lock box with double fan and hook to stud in attic. Will not work?? And another idea is add extra ac Duct (HVAC) pipe to lock box that can cool down ( may be bad idea). What you guys think? Share your ideas and suggest me if I am wrong. Anyone had any issue in attic DVR?
  3. Hi Guys, I am new guy in this forum with very little knowledge on CCTV world. I have 4000 sq.ft home want to install HD security camera system. I know, people asked the same question again and again thousand times. May be this different one. I am looking atleast 8 HD cameras with NVR system. What are best HD cameras NVR systems options available in the market under $1500?. Just throw me list of products which are the best in the market. I will figure out with my budget. This is interested me on Other day, when I was talking to my colleague. He shared experience about security camera in the night about headlights takeover the camera makes blind. example if my camera facing on the street and in the nights if car passes in front of it. The car headlights completely takeover and make a flash light on camera. so we can not see license plate number or etc. ( this is his experience) So thinking to buy is there any camera in lower budget we can dim the headlight so can see behind the lights. seniors members and experience member already know about this. Please share your thoughts.
