  1. More specifically: 550 R1: HELO should be a FQDN or address literal (See RFC 2821 4.1.1.1)
  2. Setting up email alerts from my Hikvision NVR... not working. Sniffed the traffic leaving my network, and the NVR is sending a HELO command with 'dvrdvs' as the hostname. The mail server rejects the connection because the HELO command does not have a fully qualified hostname. I logged into the NVR via telnet, and set the hostname to be a fully qualified one, and now it works. Anyone else seen this issue? Any way to set the hostname via the GUI? If not, how can I set the hostname via the CLI so that it is preserved on reboots?
  3. Reset the NVR config, and now ONVIF is working with the Dahua... not sure why that fixed it, but I had not done a config reset after firmware update on the NVR... maybe that has something to do with it. Some functionality is still limited, but at least motion detection on the NVR is now working.
  4. So replacing the Dahua cameras with Hikvision is my best bet?
  5. Anyone else using Dahua cameras with Hikvision NVR?
  6. Got it! I set one of my cameras to "continuos" record to test, and it works fine. Thanks for the clarification. To prevent me from asking stupid questions in the future, is there any good English documentation on the web GUI for the 3.0.10 version I am running?
  7. Dahua IPC-HFW4300S with Hikvision DS-7608NI-E2/8P. I managed to get the NVR to see the camera by adding it with a Custom Protocol (Main Stream, RTSP, Auto, 554). I can see the live view, but when I go into Display Settings, Video Settings, or Motion Detection, I get an error saying "The camera does not support the function". Is it possible to get the Dahua cameras working with the Hikvision NVR with full functionality? I bought a single Dahua camera as a test... I also just purchased one of the newer Hikvision cameras to test with as well, but I am waiting for that to be shipped. Any insight would be helpful!
  8. Just got a Hikvision DS-7608NI-E2/8P. Installed a WD Red 3TB drive in it. Formatted it via the web GUI no problem, and it shows a status of "Normal". From the "Live View" page, I click the record button, and I get an error "Message from webpage. No enough space". I am running 3.0.10. Any ideas?
