    Avigilon Control Center problem

So how does IVMS4500 connect to the cameras on my PC? I thought it would be exactly the same? They are both programs on my PC and IVMS4500 can connect to them?

With iVMS-4500 and your PC you might be accessing your NVR, and not your cameras. Yeh i think thats my problem im accessing the NVR and not cameras. Any idea how to acces the cameras and not NVR?

  11. Ok and how do you adjust shutter speed? Im running a hikvision nvr. My other cams are set at 20fps i think thats the fastest
  12. SyconsciousAu I am thinking of running a 3mp 12mm hikvision dedicated zoomed in at 12mm to capture plates day and night. Would I just turn the IR off in dark and ajust the brightness etc to capture the plates?

    2048x1536 vs 1080P

Hi all, im a real newbie and very amature cctv user, and first post for me. I read someone here taking still pics of 2048 vs 1080. He said, and showed little difference. I run my Hikvision 3mp cameras on 2048 for the wider view. I also dont see any difference between 2048 vs 1080 apart from the wider view. My question is, is this because my monitor is only up to a certain resolution? If I bought a UHD LED TV would 2048 show up better resolution than 1080? Cheers
  14. Hi, all I am running 3mp Hikvision @ 2048x1536 resolution. BUT my tv screen is only a 720p resolution. I see little variance between setting the cameras from 720, 1080, 2048 except for the wide angle of 2048. Is this because i am viewing it through a 720p monitor/tv?

    Blue Iris Software

Probably too late but Hikvision has motion sensor program with its NVR that you select and deselect what areas you want the motion to be captured. So you could select just your mail box and deselect everything around it and it will only show events for your mail box.

    HD still shot security camera

Hi mate, I use 3mp Hikvision dome cameras. The attached photo is a car doing 40-50kmph captured at 30fps
  19. Hi mate, Im no where near any type of guru on cctv but ill will pass on my experience with Hikvision cameras and relate it to some of your questions. I have Hikvision 3mp dome IR cameras for home. I came across the same thing with a local cctv company using Hikvision cameras and putting their label on them. The stats on those cameras are the same as the Hikvision bullet cameras so I would say there is a good chance they are relabeled. I bought mine through ebay from china for $140 Australian $ as locally they are $300+ each. As for a number plate camera it depends on the angle and speed the cars are going/facing. I have mine set on my NVR at highest record quality and depending on daylight and speed I can read plates from 25 feet away on about a 45deg angle. If its more straight on 25feet plus is noooo problem with a 3mp hikvision. BUT at night time I cant see any number plates as the IR bounces off the reflective surface and its just a white rectangle. So personally I would buy genuine hikvision from US or China and save $$$'s
