westom, great tips. Actually, all lightening protection works as well like soap to protect from AIDS, as example . If we have direct lightening. Best way is avoid current in "loop", caused power lines, not correct grounding, etc..... As an example, surge protector, placed near camera, is grounded to direct ground pole. If we have strong lightening near this place, voltage difference between "center" and "camera" grounding points will be to high, an current will occur to all data lines.... If we not connect surge protection unit near camera, or, do not use different grounding points, current, caused lightening, will not appear. So, "Star" wiring configuration is the main protection. Surge protectors are just "additional" protection....

What VMS's support this camera? Actually, this manufacturer produce only OEM, without brand name..... But, you can get all SDK for VMS build I'm use Digifort VMS, this VMS supports lots of cameras.

Found something, near "miracle" FullHD 1080P camera, not high price, dual stream, intelligent video analytic possibility (license), with high sensitivity, better, than D1 camera sensitivity.... Videos will come later, please, suggest, where place video.....

Does anyone have experience with this systems? I know just 2 manufactures - Veracity and Xtralis. This is tecnology, suitable only with CCTV systems, where around 99% of system working time is writing to HDD, and aroud 1% is reading from storage.

NDN is not "analog" camera, and will be better, because this minidome use progressive scan, instead of interlaced on analog (LTC) cameras, so, can capture whole resolution picture at one shoot.... Picture quality and sensitivity near the same. ndn 921 cameras also progressive scan, but sensitivity is less, so, you will need more powerfull lighting.

Depends on system. If you build perimeter security - analog cameras and analog matrix is the best. No latency, equipment simple with minimum bugs and failure points, based on long time experience... If you want high functionality and flexibility system - IP "matrix".... Or, can be hybryd system - analog cameras and matrix with encoders with video analytic features to generate alarmas, etc...... Also, do not forhet about system security. Theoreticaly, you can connect from any IP camera point to whole system, and do, what you want..... This is impossible, when you use analog cameras...

Depends on system. If you will use lots of cameras and one workstation - any switch, depends on speed and PoE requirements. If you build system with lots of users (workstations) at LAN, you should use multicast streams from cameras (servers), so, requirements to sw should include multicast protocols managment (IGMP, PIP, etc.....).

Format, focal length, "speed".... So, where is "lines per millimeter"? Very important parameter for small pixel pitch megapixel cameras....

Tamron made excellent lens for SD cameras. But, at this moment, Fujinon MP lenses is more better, than Tamron.....

That's what I was thinking, there is no way to set the min shutter on the camera. I tried turning on the hall lights to no avail. In this case I am only a few feet from the camera, so I end up moving across the field of view pretty quickly. At least one field comes out not blurred, so maybe not so much a slow shutter problem? I was thinking that this may be inherent to analog cameras, if the camera waits 1/60s to shoot the next field in the frame. Some things I've read seem to imply this is what happens, but I wanted to have a clear understanding. I'll try it again with some different cameras this weekend where I can set the min shutter. This is not "long" shutter problem. Look at leg edges - no any blur. Typical "interlaced" picture. Except one thing - place camera "normal", do horizontal, not vertical motion. Then look at snapshoots
