  1. Hi

The Hik ddns server is being discontinued, so you will need to update your camera Firmware for you to enable the Hik connect function,if your model camera allows this , its almost like a P2P connection, camera must have this function for it to work on the Hik connect server

other option will be do get a new Hikvision NVR with the Hik connect function on , all the new models will have this , then connect the camera to the NVR and view the NVR on the app

also you could purchase a ddns domain , through dyn.com for example then do port forwarding on you router (if your ISP allows ) and view your cameras remotely that way, I would recommend changing the default port of 8000 and use a secure password, but it will work

    hope this helps

    regards

  2. Thanks for the information, I am using a variety of cameras but most are 3mp and up. I currently have 16 cameras and seem to be at the end of the line on my pc capability. The 32 version of my windows only allows half of my memory to be used, so I guess I could just jump up to the 64bit version of windows 7 and and allow all 16 gigs of memory to be used. I am suprised that many of these NVR's only use a dual core processor, do you find this to be sufficient?

    Hi

A standalone NVR is build for purpose , Pc based has many back round software and drivers running also Pc based is not as reliable as standalone too many things can go wrong, I always believe for security purpose the equipment needs to be reliable no point you have 30 cameras but when you need footage there is nothing there, just my opinion ,

I would definitely recommend the standalone NVR for your application use the PC as your viewing and management station

    Regards

  3. Hey thanks.

I actually just got it going this morning. Turns out I needed to enable the notifications, in the HIK-CONNECT app, (not ivms-4500) and I am not getting the smart events coming through.

I am considering trying Dahua... Hikvision has been good, but so complex, with so many tools and versions of things. Not looking for Nest simple, but man...Hik is tough.

    Hey

According to Hik it wil work through the HIk connect, hope you get it right, Dahua is allot easier setup

    Regards

  4. Hi

with a POE NVR you will need to manually set the Ip address of the POE network to the same range as the cam or vice versa ,it should power the camera either way, when using the same brand IP camera as the NVR, the NVR will automatically set the ip of the camera for you

    Regards

  5. Hi you all,

A few months ago, I bought a VTO2000A installation. It worked just fine, but since a few weeks the camera doesn't work automatically when someone rings the bell at the front door. The video connection is okay, because I can use the camera when I just use it for surveillance.

Is this any setting or anything I messed up? I think it happened when I also started using the Dahua App on my phone. But I don't use it anymore, so I'm not sure if that's the cause.

    Any ideas?

    I already reïnstalled the firmware.

    Thanks in advance,

    Pello

Try defaulting the unit and set it up again , had the same problem before and that sorted it out, also try updating the firmware

  6. I there,

I have a Dahua IPC-EBW81200 and their monitoring app on smartphone called gDMSS Plus (I paied for on top) is not compatible with it, since the last version (upgare) of the app.

I was in contact with Dahua and they told they found it was a library issue which was introduced in the last version of gDMSS Plus, but since there radio silence from Dahua.

Is there soeone who has the same issue with this camera and gDMSS Plus please ?

    Many thanks !!

What are you using to connect to the camera, P2P or Dyndns? try updating the Firmware of the camera, uninstall and re-install your GDMSS also test with the free version if there is a difference

  7. i have a Dahua DVR System version is 3.210.0001.0 and Build version is 2016-03-22, the problem is keep on changing Ip address to something else and the port numbers. and on PPPoE user name; HACKED, Password xxxxxx and no ip address. i have reset it to default and everything backed to normal and i have changed everything password disable wifi of the company and i wait for 2 hours and the same thing happened again i thought someone is hacking it but when i check in the logs there was my login at that current time i logged in and out and present the time i logged in. The technicians said is firmware i checked the new firmware for the current version is the same as the one on the dvr. please tip me what might be a problem and solve this problem

Hi , there is a group of people hacking into Dahua DVR's all over the world, we are experiencing allot here is South Africa, traced the IP to the UK, what you need to do is disconnect your DVR from the network, do a complete factory default, add two new users and passwords , delete the admin user, change ports and upgrade your firmware before connecting it back to the net,

  9. Hi,

I am going to design IP CCTV System for my Client.

    we have the following:

    1. Total number of IP Cameras are 66 (4MP resolution/each) bandwidth around 5Mbps/each

    2. POE Switch 1: 22 Cameras connected

POE Switch 2: 22 Cameras connected

POE Switch 3: 22 Cameras connected

    3. Distance between switches is 30 meter (from sw1 to sw2 is 30 meter and sw2 to sw3 is 30 meter)

    4. NVR will be in Control Room, distance between NVR and each Switches is 80 meter.

    5. NVR have 4 RJ-45 Ports (10/100/1000Mbps).

    My Question:

    A. can connect each switch with Cat6 cable using 1000Mbps Ethernet Ports? then last switch connect to NVR using 1000Mbps Ethernet Ports in NVR? any problem we will face? or to be in safe side better to use fiber connection between switch and NVR?

    Good day

So you gonna be running a total of 330MB/S, I don't think you will have any issues if you are using a giga-bit setup worst case you can put 2 switches at the last point before the NVR so sw1 to sw2 to sw3 to sw4 and sw5 to sw 6 to nvr, if you know what I mean, but still think you will be good to go, im doing a 80 ip cam setup the same way next week will tell you how it goes

    Regards

  10. Hello.

I currently require a Mini NVR that has a easy to use GUI, 1080p Camera Inputs, Can Link a HardDrive, Has p2p app and most importantly can access the software on IE that can live view, but also playback the recording remotely. Also if possible link to a cloud to also send recording offsite at low framerate if required.

It needs to be Mini NVR, because is going into a small offsite space.

I am familiar with Dahua, IVSEC, Hikvision, Bosch GUI so anything like that would work good? Just needs more than anything the offsite live viewing and reliable playback capabilities.

I know I'm asking a lot, but its what a client has requested and I am struggling to find one that offers all the above.

Look forward to idea's, products, links etc.

    Thank you in advance.

    James.

    Good day

How small do you need the device to be? I have taken the main board out of a Dahua NVR and built it into a smaller box with a 3g dongle for remote access work well

    Regards

  11. Hi everyone.

I recently got some problem with my ivms-4500 on Android device and couldn't find any solution online.

    Problem:

I can not share the clips available on the ivms-4500 app for example clips or photos.

After I press the button "SHARE"

the app is scanning for something.. and then opens a window with options to connect to some networks. I have tried to connect to all these networks but no result.

The app is connected to wifi and Internet, but gives me this trouble.

    Please look at some snapshots..

    Good day

Just do a screen shot and send that, I believe the share button is to share the APP

    Regards

  12. I have 2 hikvision 7216HQHI DVRs , there're 30 cameras ,15 cameras connected to each of them, the problem is the technician who connected all these cameras ,used long coaxial G59 cables (about 520meters-500-350-280m 250m ) ,with BNC female to female connectors to extend cables, which caused so many problems , among of them loss of signal , the video is not clear and other problems that I'm suffering from.

My question is there any other way to shorten the length of cables ,such as using amplifiers with RJ45 port to extend my coaxial g56 cables.

    any advice will be apprechiated

    Thanks in advance

    Good day

Are you running these lengths with or without power? (is power separate?) have you tried using ground-loop isolators? with proper cable you should be able to run 500m no problem, going from coaxial to Ethernet can work but might cause even more issues, power could be your issue here, you do get boosters like a active balun

  13. Hi. Don't take any notice of the date

PSS has been out for over 8 years ... Was for dvr then dvr and IP now dvr IP and cvi and feeds from Tvi Dahua units

2013 cvi was not even used .... So updates have been added

CVI will display on PSS cause the dahua DVR protocols and port can still be accessed the same way as a older DVR, the only problem is because PSS is outdated you don't get the full functionality and most of the time you will get issues with compatibility

    Regards

  14. Good day

you can contact me if you need any support for Dahua I am in South Africa but we specialize in the Dahua support and products

    Regards

    Hi Topchips,

Maybe you can assist me? I'm also located in South Africa and am looking for support on Dahua products. To date I have contacted their on-line support a total of 7 times and have e-mailed every single one of the e-mail addresses provided on their website without a single response. I contacted ELVEY's head office but they couldn't answer my question. If your are part of the local Dahua support please help me, alternatively can you please point me in the right direction?

I installed 3x HDCVI recorders (51HCVR7204A, 51HCVR4108HS-S2 & , 51HCVR4116HS-S2) for a client in a very high crime area. These recorders are remotely linked via a WLAN 150Mbps (Ubiquity Airmax M5) outdoor private network that does not have an active internet connection. SMART PSS is used to remotely view and manage the three recorders and all the cameras (in total 24 Dahua cameras). PC-NVR is used to record locally as a security measure in case the DVRs are stolen or damaged. My questions are the following:

    I) Can PC-NVR be forced to record the 2nd stream instead of the main stream? (Recording 24 cameras at 4000 – 6000 Kbps is too much for the network. Lowering the main stream bit rate at the recorder side is not an option as the highest quality video must still be available if needed).

II) How does one view PC-NVR locally recorded data with SMART PLAYER? (PC-NVR saves all its data in the MEDIA folder which can only be accessed from PLAYBACK in SMART PSS while PC-NVR is running. This is possible with GENERAL PSS)

III) Both the newer recorders (8CH & 16CH) do not display correctly on GENERAL PSS. It seems as if it runs at 1x frame per second (live view and playback). I suspect this to have something to do with H.264H encoding. Is (H) not supported in GENERAL PSS? They do however display (playback and live view) correctly in SMART PSS.

    Good day

Sorry for my late response,I have created a how to for you on the setup of the PC NVR : https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B0RllNPzi5cnSUJRaUJaMkltb0k

Currently you can only record the mainstream, however I know Dahua is busy adding that feature on the new smart PSS, At what resolution u recording?

You will have to cut or export the footage you want first then do smart player playback, general PSS is outdated and is not fully compatible with the latest DVR's

You can also use a DSS server or Dahua Scheduled back up software to back up the DVR's footage

Please let me know if this helps
