  1. check if the card has a sticker of GV on the chip instead of embedded logo on the . If you got the fancy box and fancy manuals its probably legit.

the best would be if you could post a high res image of the card and people here can tell you if it's fake or not. We have an authorized dealer here who sells fake cards too under the table so you never know...

  2. using CenterV2 gives you pretty much full control on when to send alerts with emails. install it and run it on the same machine as your GV and have fun.

  3. sure there is, close down all GeoVision related software and execute repair database utility from the Windows Start menu to rebuild the database files. make sure you close ALL GV stuff first. if you can't see the Repair Database Utility in your start menu search the installation folder.

this applies to standard GV cards, not sure regarding the Video Server but I'll give it a try.

  4. Hey falks,

I have a system with about 200 cameras, I want to go with IP cameras but not sure if thats the right path.

The question is if I need to have a strong internet line to the place if I want all these cameras, or if I only need my NVR and switch with lots of ports?

none of these cameras needs to be connected to the Internet and they all will run in thereown LAN.

I was thinking since all the network traffic is local only maybe my external line has nothing to do with the system, and I just need my switch to be able to handle all this data, but not sure I'm right

can you chip in w/ advice?

  5. Hi all,

If I get an external modem from the list here to try and connect it to a GV system, do I need to pay to a dialup service provider or I just hook it up to extension from the regular house line?

I know that for the GSM module i do need to pay, what's with phone alerts?

    thanks in advance.

  6. *Iin case someone is following*

I spoke today with Geo sales from the # on their website and was told that their LPR software works in the US except in Virginia because of their plates.

*Hopefully* I'll know soon how good they work.

  7. Hi all,

I'm having an issue with a 16Ch GV-1480 system. I have all the ports forwarded. I'm able to connect remotly with multiview, viewlog, POS live view, and everything work sweet. However, when I try to connect to the system from inside the LAN I can see the "compression selection" page and choose which way to play, but as soon as I login my user name & pass either 'Multiview' or IE getting stock and I have to terminate the process...

Does anyone have an idea where should I start checking?

  8. When I export to file an event from the log the export takes forever even if it's very short video. If I compare this to the speed of saving to file from Geovision the avermedia is like X10 slower.

Is this as good as it gets or is there a faster way to export?
