    Hello Everybody

    l have a Floureon Security System but want to know if l can connect to the internet (Floureon security unit to my Router), instead of using a long (20 meter +) cat 3 cable and use wifi, if l can, how do l do it ? l hope l can, it would save a lot of problems, l have already set it up by using the cat 3 cable, so the settings are correct. Thank you in advance

     

    Does your system come with a NVR or ip cameras?

    Now I am thinking that maybe a should buy a 8 channel NVR and just 4 cameras for now and the add more later on. I am looking at the Elite Series 8 Channel 4K NVR with 8 POE for NVR and 3MP IP Network Indoor/Outdoor IR Bullet Security Camera for the cameras. Is that a good selection? Is the 4K NVR way more than what I need?

     

    Yes it is more than what you need. Just pick up a 1080P NVR which costs you less than $200 and with good performance. For home security, 1080P is enough.

    In fact, bullet cams are used widely in outdoors while dome, turret cams indoors.

    That thread is old and does not discuss turrets in detail. Turrets are better than bullets, particularly outdoors where someone can easily knock a bullet out of position. The hikvision turrets have better IR than the bullerts. Turret style cameras also are MUCH less susceptible to spider web reflection at night.

     

    But a fact you have to admit is that bullets are usually easier to mount and install than turrets, especially outside such as a brick wall or a exterior with siding, as they are point-and-shoot. Attach them to the wall and they are good to go. Turret cameras are more likely to require dismounting to adjust the direction.

    Depends on the scenario.

    Bullet-Dome-Turret

    Bullet cams are included in a lot of kits, probably because they are slightly faster to screw in. Usually they come with mental shell with IP66. But you still need to take care of them since nature is more powerful.

    But if your cam is anywhere close to where people can reach it, then a vandal-resistant dome camera would be called for.

    Turret (looks like a ball) cams are also popular, I usually get them requested for indoors in professional offices. But they make outdoor-weatherproof types of this kind.

    Why in the world you would you recommend a low resolution analog system from a junk brand without knowing the OP's needs. Its 2015..960h should NEVER be used in a new install (at least not in first world countries). 720p should be the minimum. 1080p even better.

    OP what is your budget? How many cameras? Do you live in the US?

    Why do you need remote recording?

    Well, this kit's able to capture footage at 900 TVL and the camera produces 720p equivalent footage, allowing to pick out key areas of focus in fine detail. So it's enough for a home security purpose as for a wired system.

    960h is HALF the resolution of 720p....not sure where you are getting the 720p equivalent nonsense. 960h should not be installed in 2015, ever.

     

    I have no idea where you get the assertion that 960h should not be installed in 2015, ever. But what I really know and learn from the marketing data is that still lots of people need them and buy them. You must have the knowledge that nothing is perfect and everything has its own reason for its existence.

    hi guys, I need your help, I want to purchase a Security Camera set with DVR, which can Record on DVR and on REMOTE LOCATION (it can be PC or any thing in Remote Location on that it has to do Recording).

     

    So can any body advice me, which Brand & which Model# Camera System I have to purchase.

    Actually lots of cctv security systems supports recording and remote monitoring. I suggest you to get the best cameras you can afford for your budget, the higher the TVL rating the better the picture generally speaking. Think it's a good option for you, floureon 4ch 960h Onvif CCTV DVR with 4 x 900TVL night vision bullet cameras +1TB HDD(cloud-based remote access, smart motion detection, email alert)

    - Features of vandal proof and IP66 weatherproof are needed for outdoor installing (if you need).

    - As for recording, many dvrs will record right on a HDD when they detect any activities (we call it motion detect), and send you an email alert attached with pics or vids.

    - As you know, function of motion detecting can save lots of HD space so it supports longtime recording (approximately 10days).

    - You can access & view in real time video signal from remote location via pc, phone by using CMS software or phone app.

    Hope that gives some ideas.

    Hello. I'm planning to set up a 4-8 camera CCTV system at my parent's retirement home in Jamaica. At least 4 cameras will be outside, and the rest will be inside. I have never done this before so this is very new to me.

     

    I have a spare computer, it's an AMD quad core, and I would like to use ZoneMinder on it, is it a good software? Will it run fine on an Ubuntu guest virtual machine with 2GB of available memory?

     

    As for the outdoor cameras, what should I get? IP cameras or analog? Any camera model/brand suggestions? How much should I spend on a good camera? Is wireless IP cameras good enough? Also, keep in mind that this is Jamaica, and it's very wet and very hot.

     

    The area is full of night bugs, especially moths, so I heard that it's better to get an IR illuminator than to use a camera's own IR? Also, is there any other way to reduce insect interference?

     

    Sorry for asking so many questions, but I want to make sure that I got this done right, since my parents will be living in another country where access is limited.

     

     

    Actually, there are an number of good cctv security systems available that would fit your requirements.

     

    As for your query

    IMO get the best cameras you can afford for your budget. I'm using floureon 8ch 960h nvr with 4 1000 tvl ir-cut ip cameras and have no issues so far with clear footage even at night. I installed one of my cameras underneath a plastic flower pot I have made by cutting a piece and bought a hdd for the recording and after internet settings I can view it from my iPhone and laptop. One thing I want to point out that resolution is important when comes to the recording of details. You know that resolution is measured in TV Lines in CCTV cameras. A higher number of TVL means that a camera will be able to render images with more detail generally speaking.

     

    Weatherproof.

    You mentioned outdoors so IP66 is a must and most cameras have this feature already. But for outdoor installations, you are recommended to not have so many issues with the weather affecting your cameras to be positioned in a sheltered location even if they are weather resistant.

     

    IP or Analog.

    Analog camera can be more stable than IP camera since it's connected via lots of cables but the resolution can be restricted. IP camera. With Ethernet network cabling, you can go better than 1080P (which is about 2 megapixel). But IP security cam requires network bandwidth to transmit and store images, video and data. The higher the resolution of your camera, the greater your bandwidth requirements. So it depends on your situation.

     

    IR-CUT. Camera's own IR is needed whether or not you would buy a IR illuminator. IR illuminator plays a supplementary role in insufficient light recording.

     

    Budgets wary from brand to brand. You can go $400 or more to buy high-end cctv kits if you can afford. But if you just wanna buy a quite good bargain, then approximate 200 USD is enough.

     

    Hope that gives some ideas to focus on for ya.

    I have AVTECH H.264 16 channels with audio. I am currently viewing LAN through avtech software - video viewer. The view and audio works perfectly fine. I also want to install and view the software at another two different laptops.

     

    So I have installed and I can view live and playback on the new installed laptops. But my problem is that the audio doesn't work. I can only listen to the audio only on one laptop but not on the other two that I have installed. The audio button seems to be disable.

     

    What could be the problem? Can I only listen to audio at one laptop per time? Or is it firmware problem? Please help me. Thanks in advance.

     

    Hi, I guess your dvr firmware has no problems since you can listen to the audio on one laptop. I think that you need to go and check your audio settings.

    The remote setup does not allow you to manipulate the settings for the audio. You are better put the icon it to live mode, and you can hear live audio.

    Can any one help I have a floureon cctv recorder & I am trying to set up motion detection as the instructions are not to clear thanks

     

    To set up motion detection

    1) Login the dvr panel board via CMS software or 32 Bit IE browser.

    2) Click Device Config and set the buzzer to ‘on’

    3) Set the alarm duration for as long as it will take you to get back from the monitored area to the DVR

    4) Check the tick box for a snapshot when motion is detected

    5) Test Walk the area

    You should hear the buzzer sounds when you test walk, if not try to turn up the sensitivity and try again.

    I am looking for a basic IP camera (Not a DVR system) to put in our front window to monitor the front of our house. At night the front of the house is well lit and since it is in a window I am looking for a unit without IR or at least the ability to turn it off. I tried a Zmodo unit but it just seemed too glitchy (Time changed, recording stopped randomly, etc). I am looking for a unit to have the following:

     

    • HD recording

    • Wireless

    • Local Storage/recoding using Micro SD

    • Ability to view on phone would be good but not necessary (Viewing on PC would be fine)

    • Continuous recording - not motion detection

    • Ability to overwrite oldest video so that continuous record always works

    • Ability to download/watch video/take pictures

    • Ability to turn off IR if it has it (Will be putting in a window and don’t want the reflection. The outside of the house is well lit at night)

     

    I am just using this as a precaution in case something were to happen I could review back on video.

     

    If anyone has any suggestions it would be much apperciated.

     

    Actually most of ip camera has ir or motion detect activation thanks for the development of technology. You can simply turn IR or Motion detect off. There should be some buttons can do that. If you need a recommendation, I have one option for you: hd 720p ONVIF wireless IP camera H.264 Waterproof (Plug-n-play, support 802.11b/g/n, 1280*720@25fps, 3.6mm lens, IP66). It can be a choice if you're in your two minds. HTH.

    Seems that people tend to choose wireless security system for apartment complex. But one thing to keep in mind that despite not needing a data transfer cable, wireless cameras still require a power source, ie. some adapters or batteries are needed. What's more, increased risk of signal loss or interference would affect the recording sometimes.

    I have never seen a wireless system installed in a commercial building. Its improper and should not be done. There is no reason proper cabling cannot be run.

     

    Exactly what I wanna say. How about installing an AHD system in an apartment complex in your opinion?

    It can't be better if you have solved the problem with pewe's help. But I still have something to share, hope it helps you.

     

    If you can't visit footage via CMS software, you can use web browser. Do remember that it ONLY supports 32 Bit IE browser and can ONLY work in Windows XP/Vista/7/8.
