What IP,Subnet, Gateway do you use on your computer and on the DVMR?

What exactly happens when you try to connect through the adress book? Do you get a time out?

The Storesafe is obsolete and replaced by SymSafe which can record D1. Digia can not be viewed by SymNav for example and have less configuration options.

I agree with most of what Rory sais. IP is really overrated when it comes to many CCTV solutions. In good lighting, indoors and a customer with a big wallet I would go for IP but otherwise not. I have met alarm installers who proudly say that they only do IP systems. In that way Rory is right, IP is popular among newbies.

It´s in the package when you buy it, try contacting GE and order it. I don´t know where you can get it anywhere else.

You need a special RS422 cable (RJ45 on both ends) that runs from the CyberDome to an adapter that splits the RS422 into: Video, Power, PTZ.

Ok, but besides moving objects, does the megapixel cam provide better image quality? What I have seen most NVR also record in 4CIF or D1 at the highest. Right?

Hi guys. My first post, here it goes.

Can anyone explain to me how a megapixelcam in 4CIF can show a better image than an analog 540 TVL camera? Doesn´t the compression take away the exessive pixels so that the image should be basicly the same?
