  1. Hi there I have a pair of IPC-2100 ip cameras on an wds network (engenious access points)when I add the second camera the ping rises to a maximum of 400ms thus network is slowing down at the NVR end. My noise floor is -48 to -60dbm maximum. what would be causing this as i need the ping to be relatively low to achieve proper frame rates. any chance of help?
  2. Hi all for the the life of me what would cause one of bullet type IR cameras with a built in OSD to behave erratically and stay on. if i switch it off its reverted back to default and it comes on within the hr again. IR camera has a pigtail with osd buttons attached to it? to be fair the osd button stay outside the connection enclosure box would moisture cause this?

    Dahua NVRs

might buy from ADATA don't know yet depends on the full screen triggers. avermedia NVR/DVRs have them. RFconcepts supply avermedia...bit pricey though. what is alarm triggering screen tips?
  6. HI all got a gig to do at a fuel yard decided to go IP as picture quality is mucho improved! Im looking for a dahua nvr 16 ch however I want a motion trigger that will put a specific camera to go full screen (eg. a car coming through the gate or someone coming in the door) can dahua nvr do this? I know that avermedia recorders can do this though. and is alibaba worth buying from? cctv lad hope yous are all well
  7. Hi all need some help on a job , Don't usually go for wireless kits for cctv I've had to because of the distance from the house to the farm yard. ok. I've purchased two 50mw 2.4ghz transmitter and receivers. one is 20 ft away and the other is 423 ft away the receiver box is custom made with antennas outside of it and they are like 10 inches apart. the garage camera (20ft) is at channel 1 and works perfectly. the shed camera (423ft) is at channel 3 and picture just comes as noise and sees channel 1 momentarily and goes away. however if i put it at channel 1 the picture gets stronger with them both in conflict and I see the shed its almost clear but its a picture thats in pulling at each other. why can i not get a stable picture at channel 2,3 or 4? is the transmitter out of range or is the receivers too close to each other?
  8. Hi lads. got a question about remote control extenders to control the DVR from every room that has a tv? i have a cat 5 run to the house which is used for the tv output via dvr but theres some pairs left can i is it possible to put a IR bud on dvr end and the RF reciever on the other end. would this work for the whole house or does it have to have to have transmitters as well next to the tvs? wanting a cheap way to do this effectively. glad of anyhelp
  9. got a dvr output tv modulator to tvs in house , the problem that i have since installing the dvr is a hunting overlay picture its not noticeable to the novice but i notice it it like it stop starts. output is baluned via cat 5 run to the modulator then is connected to the UHF distributor to multiple tvs in the house. the DVR is a Dahua 16ch hope ye can help lads.

    DVR output Hunting

its 2 am here in N.Ireland but ill get some to you. might try video via digital camera. what im finding hard at the mo is bringing out good night vision and how to reduce noise.(think its unavoidable and i think non IR cameras with IR floods would be more capable? I just bought a effio-e 700 tvl its like 160 dollars in your currency 72 leds BLC and all that. but it claims to have 60 metre range but it is pointed towards an open yard. just would like better low light exposure. whats ur take on IR cameras?

    DVR output Hunting

hey soundy its like ghosting but its not the channels themselves. all dvr channels are fine just when the output through the rf modulator to the tvs thats all. its like ..u ever see video that has noise (normal noise) then it smoothens with a slight wave then back to noise again hard to describe. sort of a wave. its not still.

Hey lads, just recently purchased a Zeus 8ch customer is complaining of a beeping noise from the DVR investigated - a no disk error came up and DVR doesn't see HDD but however when I reboot DVR it comes back this is the second time i have done this and has come back what ye reckon is wrong. Bad HDD? or a method to get rid of the error? hope all is well !

    creating a relay?

im wanting to create a wireless ptz with an IP encoder which has alarm input options. one is to add PIR to the encoder and the other is have the ability to switch on lights and off. obviously you cant put a mains cable into the encoder which will need a step down relay? how do i go about this? what needs to be added to the encoder to make this happen? is there a set product or can it be custom made? pretty new to this concept though! would appreciate any help guys

disabled all alarms formatted hdd - not recording right now so problem must be continuing have to talk to dealer support, cant get into dvr without breaking seal sticker just yet interesting it may not be fast enough or HDD not on supported list anyone know this one?

thanks for chiming in about it. yeah it comes up with the 500gb hdd but it goes again and beeps no disk i havent opened it yet and it does playback video so there must be a HDD in it the reason i haven't checked yet because of the seal. suspect this is a deeper problem also i cant get into device config (remotely) to turn off the alarm for now. PSS keeps hanging on that. could do with rorys help or sean

    creating a relay?

your talking about Republic of Ireland lad! Im in Northern Ireland we dont have 3 phase electric here. although at my house I have a 3 phase transformer along side singlephase last owner of the house installed the 3 phase so its rare. (not being used at present although supposed to be cheap to run for heavy duty tools) its all single phase here same as the rest of the UK. how would i do the relays this way then? home plug will work as it is in the same circuit at the farm. but will test it for internet connectivity quality it may not be that good due to distance though! i dont need all the lights on at one given time depends where the sheep are put at a time of the week.

    creating a relay?

might not bother with wifi go homeplug style theres about 4 light switches been reading about relays that can take on 240 with input driver from the encoder (dry contact) so voltage rating from the encoder would be important for the relay too. so a 4 channel relay would do the job. quite small these things too, only thing is do i wire it from the mains to the relay add wires on from the switches to the relay direct? i heard of someone doing it by a stepdown transformer as a relay but awkward option. am i correct in all this? btw im doing the install from my fathers farm perfect testing ground!!

    creating a relay?

I don't have such encoder as of yet but the main goal is to connect shed lights off and on there is quite a lot of them up to 4 switches in a massive shed. from what I see a lot of the encoder have alarm inputs available on them? specifically I see a good few wifi ip encoder , with webserver,rs485 with iphone ptz support and with relay outputs but the crux of the thing is what do i connect it. need a wiring plan of connecting them to all of the mains switches. is there a transformer needed specifics is what id like

    wireless ptz control?

think i answered my own question there thanks tomcctv

    wireless ptz control?

Has anyone made a wireless PTZ control unit before , would like to have one custom made rather than using IP control units(more expensive? )would liketo keep it analogue. the other thing is I would love to find out more is IP or analogue units to a ptz camera with IO with controlling shed lights on and off theres a lack of detail about these and if there is some its insanely expensive.. one scenario is a wireless ptz unit video and control by IP to the laptop? is this possible to go to a NVR thus getting outputs to tv then controlled by a wireless RF control pad around the house to the tv. the other scenario is a analogue ptz camera with wireless control unit ptz and video to a dvr and have a wireless RF control pad around the house to any tv. issues would be about range voltage and video quality.
