Through LAN and WAN (iphone)

I am going to install a total of 8 IP cameras: 4 x Dahua IPC-HFW3300C (3 Megapixel) 4 x Dahua IPC-HDB3200C (2 Megapixel) I am going to build a dedicated PC to monitor/record/motion detection. Will an Intel i5 (Ivy bridge, i5-3570K) suffice for this? I am leaning towards using BlueIris software (never used this before) for this, any feedback on this? PS I hope i posted this question in the right place

We did a thorough check on the lines (both coax and power) and they are fine. He reversed polarity on the transformer and it fried. They looked like flimsy cameras. These cameras were working before we did the move (they came with the house). So I am certain this guy just messed up and the cameras being cheap just smoked up and broke. I will check on the forum sponsors for gear. Is there any you recommend within that price range?

Hi guys. I will briefly explain my situation. I just purchased a new home which had 4 black and white security cameras and a DVR (very old or cheap system it appears). I did some minor construction to the house and my alarm guy moved the DVR to the basement and when he reconnected the cameras transformers he reversed the polarity and 3 of the 4 cameras went up in smoke. So now I want to purchase 4 new cameras and a new DVR. I am a total newbie to this so please help me out. I would like to keep my budget around $1,000 USD (for the 4 cameras and DVR). It claims it has 120 FPS which is good (I think). I do not think I need a DVR with CDRW or VGA out. I will upgrade any DVR with a 500gig HD. I will also purchase a 9 camera power box.
