  1. It is a Netgear FVS 318. I will post the settings in a bit If you like, I can try and connect and see if it is any diffrent, just PM me the IP and a Temp User Name and Password. Did you try connecting thru the VPN? We don't use the VPN, whomever sold my friend this equipment ripped them off, they had no need for the VPN. For the price they paid for this I could have set them up with a nice Sonicwall, but I was not available att he time when the FVS was installed. Previously they had a basic DLink router which worked just fine. I would rather use the port forwarding. They are looking for a quick way to connect when someone breaks in, they want to be able to move the cameras around and view who it is (they get cell phone alerts) Another thing to try is to change the Web Server Port to something other than 80, because sometimes Port 80 is blocked by default from the ISP and some equipment. I normaly use 9090 which works for me and makes the port forwarding setup much easier with 1 range of 9090-9112 Did you try anything I mentioned before?

  4. If you're using a linksys router, Disable Block WAN Request under the Security/Firewall settings Page. Post The Settings from the Network Setup Tab of the server.

  6. In The DVR Software go to :- Control (Bottom Right) \Setup (Top Right) \Network (5th Tab from the Right) Select Web Login Required (Green Check Mark) Click on 'IP Address Setting ' Button This will open a window for your Network Connections. Right click Local Area Connection and then select Properties. In the Local Area Connection Properties Window:- Select - Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) and click Properties. In the Internet Protocol Properties Window you can set the IP Address to Static by selecting {Use the following IP address} {Use the following DNS server addresses} For the DNS Server input the default gateway address for Preferred DNS server. That's it your done. Make sure you use an IP Address that's not already in use. If you want the Manual, PM me your E-mail Address and I'll send it to you. Or Contact Tech Support and they will direct you to the download location. P.S. What version Software are you using? Are you an End User or an Installer?
  7. Try connecting using the Remote Client Software first. If that works, change the web server port to something else. If it doesn't, then your port forwarding is not setup correctly.

  9. How are you trying to view? Web Browser or Client? You need to forward the ports for the DVR. Default Ports are :- Web 80 Client 9091-9112 These can be changed under Control\Setup\Network
  10. If not already done try powering the camera and dvr from the same power source. Could you post a image?
  11. Port 80 is a commonly used and accessed port. Port 80 is the default port used for webservers and various other applications or services.
  12. Change Port 80 to 5002 and forward all.
  13. Depends on how you plan to remote access the DVR. Port 80 would be for access through a web browser (Internet Explorer) in which case you should change to a different port. Port 5000 & 5001 would be for access through the DVR Remote Client software which is fine. What DVR Brand and model are you using?

    what is "blc" setting???

Sorry I just had too post that LOL. "BLC" = Backlight Compensation. The ability of a camera to compensate in cases where a subject with a large amount of background light would otherwise be obscured by blooming or silhouetting. Backlight compensation is video gain done either manually or automatically to correct the exposure of subjects that are in front of a bright light source.

Based on the specs "CPU: Pentium 4 1.7GHz and above" I would say yes, but I've used other boards that required intel boards and chipsets with AMD and had no problem. What do mean when you 'these cards are a bit old'? Why don't you reach out to the manufacturer and see what they have to say, it may cost you less than trying different scenarios. Hope I never have to call these guy's, check this Q&A. "Q. When I execute SmartEyes server, interface screen appears, but camera screen is blank in spite of connecting cameras. Why is that? " "A. Because the color is set by 24 bit or 32 bit at display registration information." Note, no advise or directions to resolve issue.
