  1. Hello to everyone!

I'm new here in the forum, so I want to say thanks in advance to all those in the forum sharing their amazing ideas.

the situation is this: I have like 5 stores each with a 8ch Hikvision DVR, the idea is to access them all in a main office remotely, everything has been set up and it works like a charm, main stream 3070Kbps, Substream 128Kbps, (each channel), the idea is to access them through substream so they fit the 780Kbps upstream from each store.

So the main concern here is the following, what would be the best specs for my remote client computer to access them simultaneously doing basic monitoring tasks, like local recording, remote playback, live view, etc.

    Best Processor?

    Best amount of RAM?

    Best video card?

    Compatibility Between all above?

All ideas, experiences and recommendations well received

    Thanks in advance!

    Welcome.

If you want to stay here don't start off by hijacking other peoples post.

  2. Having those settings through iVMS-4200 software, but when i tried to login as user, it gives me an error with wrong login and password. I tried to use different usser names, different password, eg. containing only digits, but it is still ignoring me.

Thinking that IP and MAC restrict client to connect from IP and MAC set, leaving them as default, so any IP with any MAC can connect (?)

    Starting to dislike those devices

Are YOU trying to connect to the DVR or iVMS?

  3. Hi,

I am new to the forum and my english is not that good. I have both Q-see QC804 NVR & Swann NVR8-7200. I bought Swann coz I need 8 cameras. I tried hooking up qsee camera to swann & vice versa with no luck in both of them working. I have not set up internet access to Swann yet. but I find it much easier to configure Qsee compared to Swann (from documentation). so far right now my Qsee is all hook up outside while Swann is still being tested inside. let me know what you want me to test or guide me to whatever you guys want to try.

are you sure 100% they work together?

  4. Got your message about TaniDVR, downloaded it, will check it out soon.

Apparently it's CLI based, and the pics only show one screen active. Is that all it shows at one time? That web site doesn't tell me much, is there a place to get more info?

    Thanks!

I have no idea, never used it. (PC Guy)

You can register with them and get support via email.

You will also receive updates/findings by other users via email.

I've been following them for a while now with the intention to try it out, but never got around to it.

  5. Those look neat, but a little too obvious -- especially being white and clearly looking like dome cameras.

    You said Min not Covert.

These are the same size as a gulf ball.

You can try the pencil type cameras, they are about 3/4" by 2".

Did a couple for a customer and it turned out great, we drilled into the Pergola and painted them the same color so you don't even see the cameras.

  6. C&P from another site?

    Here are the steps:

    1) Get a new IDE hard drive. From what I read, I would stick with a 160GB or less, and an 8MB buffer or less.

    2) Connect the hard drive to a PC, and power up the PC.

    3) In Windows Disk Management, create a new primary partition on the drive, using all available space.

    4) Use "Fat32Formatter" to format the disk.

    5) Shut down the computer, disconnect the drive from your computer, and install it into the DVR.
