You can buy a EZVIZ DVR or NVR system that doesnt to audio For the rest of the house.
Then buy a standalone EZVIZ mini 360+ wifi cam (has 2 way audio)
If you can put it under a eave it is ok for outside use I have done this.
Both integrate on 1 app.
With EZVIZ you can mix and match their systems on 1 app.
I have 2 of these mini 360's in addition to my night owl system. Though i have to use separate apps.

Check all of your connections at the cameras first.
Check cabling for breaks, signs of corrosion burn marks and the like.
Are any outdoors and are the connections weather tight?
Also check all connections at the power supply.
A long shot if you have a volt meter check the voltage on the circuit the power supply is on at the outlet AND at the breaker in your electrical panel. While you are in the panel check that the breaker (hot) wire is tight you must turn the breaker off for safety to do this. Also check the Neutral wire as well. A loose neutral wire can cause weird things to happen.

Still can't get this to work. According to the app store this app SHOULD work with Chromebook.
Huge Bump here.

I'm using the Night Owl X app on an iPhone 6s, and as of yesterday it was working normally, but today no connection. Oddly, I'm still getting motion alerts on my iPhone. Contacted Night Owl support and they told me they know there's a problem and their techs are working on a fix. Anyone else affected by this?My Night Owl HD app has had some issues on my i phone 6s. I couldn't connect at first had to go in settings then hit save.
That would work until i open up again then had to do the same thing so my camera's would load.
They have a post today 1/2/18 on their Facebook page. they are still working in it.

Looking for some help here as Night Owl isn't much help.
There was a update today on their app.
All my devices 2 phones and my Tablet updated perfectly.
The Chrome book i get "App encountered an exception please exit"
I uninstalled the app and removed from the Library. Re downloaded it same issue.
My chrome book/ google settings are correct as this app will no longer work.
I'm using a new chromebook 3 and yes the OS is up to date.
Thanks in advance.

A Few of ways to do this.
#1 Use a stud finder and mark your studs, Then drop your wires in between the studs to a outlet box which you will need to buy plus cut your wall to fit, and get this box cover or similar:
I can snake 6 wires easily through this cover. Then a short run from the wall to the DVR
#2 call up a electrician that has a infrared camera that can see through walls but this can be costly.
#3 If you cant do those above there are cable management solutions (wire hiders you can buy at Walmart online or from other retailers.)
A few ideas here:

Try the EZVIZ Husky Camera
As for mounting you can use 2 small spring clamps, you can get those at Harbor Freight or Home depot.

A few things to try/ check:
1 Do you have 4G on your smart phone.
2 Are you at your mobile data cap? you could be throttled by your mobile provider.
3 What internet speed you have at home. When streaming its recommended at least 5G upload speed for best performance.
4 Age of router or Modem/ Router combo. May need replacement.
5 In your DVR make sure all your settings for streaming are correct (lower rate uses less bandwith)

Ok i bought this camera 2 weeks ago and have been testing it out hard before i decided where i was going to mount it.
I must say this is great INDOOR camera for the price i paid.
This link.
It did not come with a SD card from this retailer but other retailers sell them with a SD card (more $). I purchased a 32GB on my own.
This has wifi and Hardwired ( Not POE) options for set up. Mine is Hardwired.
Set up on 2 devices was easy. 1 on IOS (I phone 6s+) the other on Android. (Alcatel phone)
Set up on a desk top was easy as well.
As far as operation on IOS it works flawlessly
On a Android phone that works well but the response time on the pan and tilt is a bit slower than IOS.
Note with Android. This will not work on a RCA voyager tablet (first version) Not a big deal for me though.
The Ezviz mobile app has more features than the desktop app.
The Desktop is OK but 1 feature is missing that if the camera is in sleep mode you have to wake it first from one of your mobile devices first. You can put to sleep and take it out of sleep from there when program is open. Again not a big deal for me.
All in all i really like this Camera. Picture quality is better than what i was expecting. Auto tracking works decent. I would recommend.

The carry some hard to find batteries.

WD purple series is great for CCTV.
I just upgraded my system to a 4TB drive a few days ago. So far so good.
It replaced a 1TB that was pre installed on my system. I out grew it that quick.

hi .i bought the DVR Ninght owl from Auction Maxx.cuople month , Don't tested yet.when i set it up my DVR clock on the login . I did try many password still not work,....admin,password,123456,888888,000000,123456789,i can not return after 2 week, can some body help my to unclock it. my model DVR-HDA 10LB-81-R5 ThanksIf this product was bought used you need to register your product with Night OWL then call customer care.
If this product is new you have to set up your admin password the first time you boot up your system
The pass word has to be 8 characters.
Now, when your system is unlocked create another user name with a different password and grant it full accsess .
So this problem doesn't happen again.

Hi everyone!New to the forums, I just wanted to ask if it's possible to mount a camera mount to soffit? Will it hold on it's own without being screwed on to a stud? This possible installation is going to be install on top of my garage overhang.
Thanks!
It will hold.
You may have to buy different screws, Sometimes the ones that come with the cameras are cheap quality.
If you have small holes in your soffits look into quality self tapping screws.

Hi, is it safe to keep your DVR/NVR running in the house constantly?I'm a bit worried about keeping items running in the house when I am away etc...
I've installed mine in the loft where it has adequate ventilation.
But I'm still worried about it running all the time.
How do you run yours?
Thanks
I run mine 24/7.
If there is a power failure i have a commercial grade battery back up that will keep my dvr and power to all 8 cameras running for 6-8 hours.

looking for advice please.the mouse connected to my Hikvision DVR has suddenly stopped working.
had the full system installed around 8 month ago but seem to have one problem after another!
Bought a new mouse today but that doesn't work either.
The mouse has power to it but no arrow appears on the monitor
Did you power your system down then reboot then install your mouse?
Try that first. If that doesn't work try another usb port if you have one.

Are you able to tuck the wires under the siding or the j channel??
I did that for 1 of my cams.
-
I don't know what is going with Comcast but they changed my IP address(WAN) twice on me lately.
Before this i had the same IP for like 2 years.
I have to restart my modem and my DVR to work with remote viewing.
Once restored my DVR will work with remote viewing until Comcast changes it again.
Now i get the same LOCAL IP back after the DVR is restarted.

The night owl HDA series system with 4 cams is on sale at Walmart.com for a decent price.
I just bought another system so i could add on to my existing system and have spare parts!!!
As the poster above stated the cams you have are old.And are not HD.
And buying a standalone dvr these days to work with those cams will cost just as much as buying a system.

My isp (Comcrap) Changed my IP on me last month.
No equipment changes on my end)

A couple of things can cause this.
First check all your connections.
Second (i had this issue) if all of your wires in the back of your DVR are zipped tied together just a liitle too tight this may cause your issue. I removed the first zip tie closest to my dvr and it solved my issue with 1 cam i was having.
Another thing are you cam wires too close to any 240v wiring in your home?? That can cause interference as well.
-
On my night owl system, the 1 outdoor cam i have was way too sensitive from the start.
Turned the sensitivity to 3. That worked well for me.
-
It could be the power supply adapter may be on its way out.
Voltage drops will effect night vision as it takes more power to run the night vision.
-
You could try to buy a long HDMI cable from Monoprice.
They have several premade long sizes available or you can order a custom size.

I am not sure if I am posting in the right forum so admins, please feel free to move the thread to a more appropriate place, if necessary.I was gifted a Night Owl 4-camera (bullet) system with a 1TB 8-channel DVR. Two cameras are up and running but I have not hooked anything to my wifi yet (it has to be wired to my router). Pretty good performance so far though I have two issues I can't seem to figure out.
First, I noticed that the wired cameras are missing action when I set it to only record on motion. I set the sensitivity very high and tried settings 1, 6, 7, and 8 and I also tried setting the alarm area (all done on the DVR). The cameras record frequently for insect activity but they are missing cars driving past in my driveway! Sometimes the action is farther away and sometimes it is right under the nose of the camera. It would be missing at least 15 seconds of action when a car comes up the driveway and passes the first camera, depending on how fast the car goes by. The second camera, with identical settings, picks up the vehicle but there is no recording of it passing the first camera.
Second, I cannot seem to figure out how to save a clip from the video. I go in to view and choose the "clip" button and select the period I want but then when I go in to save it there are no directories to choose and no way to type anything in.
The FAQ and troubleshooting on the Night Owl site don't seem to cover these issues. I sent them a support request but haven't heard back yet.
Any ideas?
The above link to a video should help you.

Can't add new EZVIZ mini 360 C6T to ezviz app

If you are trying to add a EZVIZ camera you need to do it on a device that is 2.4GHZ on the same network you are.
