I will only be recording 1 camera to it so I don't need a lot of storage.

Anyone have an opinion on 3xLogic MVR Series?
thewireguys replied to Kablooie's topic in Digital Video Recorders
ok thanks Um yeah soundy dont worry then, If its an Atom 1.6 Im not interested .. thanks though. Oh, it comes with an Atom processor? Hmmm, I may need to rethink how interested I am. However, why would the system be produced with an Atom processor if it weren't up to the task of performing well in a DVR application? I'll need to put this on my list of questions. As long as your not using it as a client machine you will be fine. I have build many Atom NVRs with megapixel cameras and they work great. Exacq ELS and there new L series run Atoms. -

That is a sweet case... Rory you could put a dual core in that with dual hard drives. Sorry for the OT but does anyone know where I can get this case? -

UTP for analog video is rubbish
thewireguys replied to Malloot's topic in Video Transmission/Control Devices
We are using Fiber to replace the 50 and 100 pairs and coax converters so we don't have to re-cable to the cameras. -

I am working on a job soon that is using NVT stuff. The have the Active stuff and they are running about 3000-4000 ft with 36+ plus channels. NVT to 110 bock to 100 pair to second building to 110 bock to second 110 bock to 50 pair to 3rd building to 110 block to converters to 59 with 300ft runs to cameras. You would never know looking at the images. To bad we are ripping it all out and upgrading to MP cameras -

ACTI vs AXIS encoders
thewireguys replied to thewireguys's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
I'm asssuming you meant the Q7404? yes thank you -
I have a job where I need a large amount of encoders to replace 16 channel DVRs so I am looking at the ACD-2400 or the Axis blade solutions. I know the Axis solution will work but I have not used the ACTi encoder. I could save the customer alot of money going with ACTI but I am not going to recommend some thing that doesn't work. Feed back from anyone?

Personally I think VI has so much tech support for a reason. Why are you not impressed with the side cameras? If your talking about the rotation of the outside images that is because the camera is mounted to high. FYI the new version will have the ability to rotate the outside imagers. Also what RAID card are you using and how much bandwidth is coming into the server? -
A WAN ip is showing up as a LAN IP in router status
thewireguys replied to SEANHAWG's topic in Computers/Networking
or the modem is also a router.... I had the same problem with a customer and you have to bridge the modem/router or remove the other router. -

What model? Would exacqVision 2U Rackmount IP Servers work or need to be VMS Software? Does it work with general POS or only Micro 9700 POS? Thanks. http://www.exacq.com/support/retail-analytics.html
