  1. This will help you understand how to make this work http://www.axis.com/products/video/about_networkvideo/triggers.htm
  2. Bandwidth is never unlimited More importantly you are wasting hard drive space
  3. I recommend VBR with a cap as the best option. Say you set the cap at 5Mbps. The camera will use less bandwidth when there is not much movement or complex scenes. When there is alot of movement the cameras will then use more bandwidth up to 5Mbps.
  4. We have installed hundreds of them. Easy to install and aim, reliable and great image quality. I would recommend you look at the new H3a version with the built in analytics. http://avigilon.com/products/video-analytics/cameras/ Here is a sample of what the analytics can do WrydyEPf2sc

    Anylitics?

can you share a clip from the cameras you are having issues? FOV, angles and lighting are extremely important for analytics to work properly. What VMS are you using?

    New Dvtel 4K Cameras Released

That camera is not going to be in the Hikvision price range plus I think it only works with DVTEL's VMS software.

    HD-SDI System for Home

If you have coax use CVI or TVI. If you have cat cable use IP I would stay away from HD_SDI at this point as TVI and CVI have many more features "including up the coax" control That being said I have a some 4 channel HDSDI DVRS and cameras laying around that we never sold that I am looking to get rid of.

    Avigilon vs Sony?

You will not be disappointed with Avigilon's Lightcatcher cameras in low light. As for the analytics Avigilon's does things a little different than what Sony does (and others for that matter) Spending all that time configuring the analytics in the Sony cameras sounds like lots of fun then having to come back onsite to reconfigure them if anything changes in the scene is a real time suck. There is NO setup configuration for the analytics in Avigilon's cameras and you DON'T have to reconfigure them every time the scene changes. Just plug the camera into the network and point it at the scene. The adaptive analytics camera will then automatically start learn the FOV and detect people and cars. The best part it is it actually works very well

    Avigilon vs Sony?

What happens if the FOV changes? Do you have to reconfigure the analytics?

    Avigilon vs Sony?

Lol.... Please lay it on me I watched this video: cYLRJuDsutQ So you have to configure the analytics in every camera right?

    Avigilon vs Sony?

I know of a larger customer in the area that had a lot of Sony PTZ cameras but was having lots of issues and not getting fixed. I have tested a couple of Sony cameras but price wise they are on the high end and compared to other cameras on the market I don't see a need to use them. Between Hikvision and Avigilon we everything covered in all price ranges. Not to mention Avigilon now has their bullet and dome cameras with built in analtytics (VideoIQ). Below is a quick clip from the Rialto which is integrated into ACC WrydyEPf2sc
  14. Why wait for this when you can get the 6MP 30FPS camera from Hikvision right now http://www.hikvision.com/en/Products_show.asp?id=9881

    $40k+ for a camera system?

Video Insight and Advidia cameras are rebranded Hikvision. As for you price based off the hardware you listed 40K installed doesn't seem out of line. The 30TB server would be the majority of that price if that is name brand server.
  16. Yes i have both the 2MP Darkfighter and 6MP box camera. Both are impressive but not very useful because they are large box cameras. Looking forward to the dome and bullet versions.

Don't forget to add: Over priced bad support
  18. Like the title says. The latest update adds support for configuring the Rialtos from ACC. See video below WrydyEPf2sc

  20. $200 Hkvision 4K camera and $5000 client machine to display the video.... can't wait!! Curious where you get the $5000 number from? I can easily display 4k streams on a 5 year old workstation turned into a server build with no issues. I think $5000 is way off base for what is needed to use 4k cameras. Lots of my old junky equipment handles 4k pretty easily. And with sets like the Seiki 4K 40 inch tv sets down to $300 at one point (hovering around $400 now), it makes 4K a viable solution. 2015 is turning out to be the year of 4K surveillance equipment. Well the systems we work on have hundreds of cameras so client machines will have to decode many 4K streams (if the camera doesn't support multi streaming and VMS client can't handle multi streaming). For enterprise customers there is a lot more to it than just upgrading the cameras to 4K. FYI I am still waiting for the AXIS 4K camera I ordered weeks ago.
  21. From what I was told 1st Q 2015 will have DarkFighter tech in other form factors.
  22. $200 Hkvision 4K camera and $5000 client machine to display the video.... can't wait!!
  23. UBNTs cameras and VMS are proprietary so once you go down that road you will have to replace everything once you find out your not happy. Hikvisions cameras are much better and way more options for camera types and mounting options. I would go Hikvison over UBNT anyday.
  24. I ordered the 11-40MM version , plus the 6MP 30FPS box camera and one of the new bullet cameras with analytics. Hoping to have them soon. Just check the tracking I will have the DarkFighter camera today or Thursday.
