Though I don't recommend it these cameras from Hikvision work well but you need good Wifi gear/design for a reliable system.

Nice!Waterproof and vandal proof.
IP66/67 and IK08...
Has a great image but could use a wider FOV. Works well with Avigilon, Genetec (SIP) and DVTel.

I monitor seven Avigilon servers using the Avigilon client. The IP address of one of the sites has changed. Each time I restart the client, the settings for that site have reverted to the old IP address. I have to re-enter the new IP address using Client Settings->Site Networking. How do I make the new IP address permanent?Best,
Christopher
Do you have a admin rights on the client computer? We have had this issues at one of our projects where the users don't have windows admin rights.
Been fixed
Ok so what was the resolution?

Curious what lens you went with for this camera.
it comes with a good Varifocal, the FOV and focus can be adjusted in the camera's web interface, so no need to spend time getting everything right while your up a ladder etc
What VMS are you using with the 12MP Dahua?

Best IP Camera brand that you use.Best at what?
We are constantly testing cameras from many different manufacturers including: Hikvision, Sony, Axis, Bosch, Samsung, Canon, DTVel, GeoVision, GE, Dahua, DRS, UDP, Avigilon
Avigilon still is our go to camera CCTV solution because of the image quality, easy of install, easy of use and support.

Those cameras a deffently Hikvision but I don't know about the NVR.

What GE cameras? The new Interlogix stuff?
They have a mix of new and old GE stuff. All the old stuff is getting replaced. All the new GE stuff is rebranded Hikvision cameras so they work just fine.
Interesting.
I wonder if Hikvision Cameras will work with a Interlogix NVR?
I wouldn't be surprised if those NVRs are Hikvision OEM too. Hikvision's SADP software discovers the GE cameras.

If you have a current SMA with Genetec you should be able to upgrage to 5.3 SR3 (The current version)If all your cameras are compatible with Avigilon then that would be an option too.
We just won a project to switch a 700 camera Genetec system to Avigilon. Customer said Genetec is to complicated and to expensive. They have old D1 GE cameras which we are switching out to Aviglon and they have new GE and Samsung cameras which we are keeping and recording in ACC.

run at least 12 strand fiber you then have spares plus you could expand you other network. Cost it out we have installed a lot of armored fiber that was very inexpensive compared to intermediate switches.minimum quantity of fiber from sellers over here is 500m, price per meter is $4... he won't have his own terminating gear so there's another $1k if it's got lots of cores, the media converters will be around $250 each if he does not have switch's with transceivers in them...
not disagreeing that fiber is the way to go in most situations, but if he's being cheap and nasty (you getting that Vibe? I'm getting that Vibe)
as opposed to a few boxes of cat 5 at $100 a box (for 300m per box) and a few cheap $70 switch's.......
Don't get me wrong, I think the whole approach is wrong, but what he's got is what he's got!
$4 a foot? You can get 50/125 fiber for .50 a foot and you can order it pre terminated for an additional cost.

Yes Hikvision works with Avigilon. They connect VIA ONVIF and motion detection works.

Avigilon's 4K PRO camera night time sample image.... 1/30 exposure
**All for images are from the same camera just digital zooming into different parts of the image.

Do a factory reset at the camera then try to upgrade the firmware again. If you are connected to Avigilon ACC make sure you running the lastest version 5.6.2.14 and the firmware will automaticly be pushed out to the camera. If that doesn't fix it and the camera is still in warranty call Avigilon's support and they will RMA the camera and ship you an advanced replacement.
No luck with factory reset.
Contacted Avigilon and they said I have to go through an integrator to RMA.
Where did you purchase the camera?

Again, we have the legal aspect covered, im looking for technical guidance. Maybe I was not clear on that in the original post.Have you designed a system like this? If so, can you share the design specs?
Have a look at http://www.platesmart.com/

We are working on a project just like this. Finding the path for the wireless back to the head end is the most challenging part for us. What wireless are you looking to deploy?
-
Actually, it's not that simple. If it was it would currently be being done. The facts are false positives create wasted disk space.
This is why the current solution has and is to simply use continuous recording since no additional space is required because recording is continuous anyway.
This all said. Major coding changes would be required to undo the current PTZ motion detection logic suspension in any case. As stated. Hikvision is looking at doing this at minimum with auto-tracking that invokes PTZ controls during that process.
Don
I disagree. It would be easy for them to send the motion flag whenever the camera is moved.

How rugged its it? If someone throws a snowball at it will it survive?

looks good what our your thoughts?

You can't install Exacq or Milestone on the NAS. You can use it as a storage target or use NAS's VMS platform.

Hikvision used Xcode which is compromised WITH malware. This is a big deal which effects a lot of people including many people on this site.

If you're running Hikvision cameras and using their iVMS-4500 iOS app you should uninstall it and change your passwords asap.
This isn't the first time they have been hacked either.

Do you plan to use the Q1765-LE cameras inside or outside?
We have issues with them going out of focus when they are B/W mode.
I would recommend Avigilon's ACC software with Axis cameras or if you want Avigilon has some very nice bullet cameras with optical zoom that you should check out.
