    Gigabit Network with IP Cams?

Thanks for the reply. When you say "gigabit to the camera is not needed" I dont understand that. The NVR does not have a gigabit NIC either... or maybe it does I dont know. So are you saying the only line that needs gigabit is the one to the NVR?

i dont guess there is anything you can do about the speed at the nvr. if the slowness is coming from the internal processing in the nvr... thanks for the info

    Gigabit Network with IP Cams?

Just wondered about it because if the cameras dont have gigabit nics... And the PCs on the lan dont have gigabit nics... I just wondered what benefit you would see. Yep, I have a gigabit router going to a gigabit switch with the cams connected there. Runs super slow with 16 cameras connected... And there no other lan traffic to speak of.... other than 1 person checking email and basic web surfing. thanks

    embeding gv 8.3

Hello, does anyone else embed the geo video into their own web pages? I have done it for years with no problem but I am trying it with 8.3 for the first time and running into a problem. The video will play as long as the activex control is installed. I cant get the ocxchecker to run and automatically prompt the user to install the control. Does anyone have the embed code for geo 8.3? I really would appreciate it.

    Java 6 problem with GeoVision

Hello, ever since Java released version 6 the geovision applet will not work. The first image stays forzen. You can remove java 6 and go back to version 5 etc and it will work... We cannot always do this because our users are in corporate work places etc.... most of the cannot uninstall v6 We need Geovisions applet to work with the latest version of java. On the GV support site they say the answer is just to remove java and install microsft vm... I hope someone can help us with this because it is a real problem. There is also an issue with embeding the java applet with GV v8 and up... but I will post that later... thanks
