    UTP over 1000FT

There are also some cheap cameras, depending on your requirements. For example cheapest would be VGA resolution Axis M1011 series. Then 1.3 megapixel ACTi 4200/4201. LAN via Cat5 wont go more than 100m, so you would need to power cameras locally or power them via PoE using two Veracity Outreach devices, but then again it will add cost - I think they are 150$ each.
  2. Soundy, I got some comparison/test - Basler/IQ/Axis/Vivotek. Drop me your email, I`ll send you.
  3. Customer said he needs cheapest, so, just normal Samsung 2TB HDDs for 200$/piece. I know its , but customer is on budget. I would put WD RE3 +RAID card.
  4. I`m bit lost. 16 cams, 8fps, 4h/day motion, 30 days storage needed, MJPEG. Lets take 150kb/frame for example. 1 sec. = 8fps x 200kb = 1.6mb 1 min. = 1.6mb x 60 sec = 96mb 1h = 96mb x 60 min = 5.76GB 4h = 5.76 x 4 = 23.04GB Per day 16 cams = 23.04 x 16 = 368.64GB 30 days = 11TB Am I drunk or where I`m wrong?
  5. Sorry, edited. Wireguys, edit your post please.
  6. Yea not a fan of Luxriot. Exacq is just easier in every way for me. Good luck with the install. I have been installing Luxriot for 2 years, so, very used to it. But I`m learning Excaq bit by bit. Its just more expensive.
  7. It will be gigabit LAN, so, nothing much more expensive there - Cat6 instead of Cat5, GB Lan network cards are on every motherboard now +PoE switch has 4 gigabit ports also. I have spoken to customer and he agreed to cut down to 14 days, because of storage cost.
  8. thewireguys I visited Luxriot office where many maniac guys sit and code Luxriot, I know them well, they are local to me, been there many times. Unfortunately Luxriot is very resource hungry compared to other NVRs, but its cheap, very easy to use and manage +I get A1 support in seconds when I need. This customer is on budget, so cant afford H264 cameras and Excaq.
  9. If I go H264, then I will need 99 cpu PC to watch live 16 cams at the same time H264 decoding is super CPU hungry. So, have to stick with MJPEG.

  12. Netbooks are cheap. If you install 800$ cameras, then 250$ netbook price tag shouldnt be problem for you
  13. Basic So, one course for 600$ and you become Mobotix certified partner? What advantages do you get after becoming certified?
  14. After taking Mobotix training course, do I become Certified Partner? Or to become Certified Partner there is some kind of special course for it ? There is 2 classes basic and advanced.... I took the Basic and I would like to attend the advanced So, after atteding Advanced course I become Mobotix certified partner?
  15. Are there any other Londons rather than UK ? Yes in UK. But I`m away now, will be back 10-15th of April.

  17. its not on the number plate. but zooming in from the camera it has no problem day or night. robert have you used ip cameras. dont forget the res on ip 1000 times better than analog . were are you based ??? London/Latvia
  18. I sent an email to Mobotix days ago, still no reply. What a rubbish customer support/service... Another Arecont Vision
  19. Cant even read that small black cars number plate
  20. Oh, my bad English skills I will try to explain once more what I meant. Lets say you calculated that you need 3mpix camera to see number plates of cars entering gates. When it switches to 1.3mpix at nigth, you wont have enough resolution to see number plates. Whats the point of that 1.3mpix if its no good? There should be two sensors, both 3mpix.
  21. Did you complete the install of the 4160? Best, Christopher I didnt install them at the end.
  22. Samsung SIR-4160, 12vdc, 7.8w, 650mA with IR leds On. If I use passive balun and 3 pairs of Cat5 for power - what would be max run for power? Will this actually work or those 3 pairs will melt
