You probably won't like this answer, but move. Lots of good reasons not to, can't sell house, like the neighborhood, ect. One very good reason to move, your 12 year old. What is the point of being able to prove he did something after the fact?

I have not been able to find a list of which cameras work with Lenel OnGuard. We are looking at some Arecont cameras, particularly the AV1355 (1.3 MP, H.264), the AV8365 (8 MP, H.264, 360 degrees), and the AV8185 (like above, but 180 degrees). Any info on these cameras would be appreciated. Thanks.

We are looking at some new cameras, particularly the Axis M3014, but they are not yet out. Axis gives a Q2 release date, so they should be out by the end of June. Anybody have any experience with Axis and how reliable their release dates for new cameras have been in the past? Thanks.

I just replaced a bad outdoor camera with one that had been in storage for a while. It is a Sony FCT-EX780S camera. It is doing the tour the way it is supposed to, but the picture is badly out of focus. There is no focus ring on it, the WaveReader software used to view it has focus controls, but they do not seem to work. I am using WaveReader Version 4.2.47. I tried pushing the WIDE and TELE buttons on the side of the camera, that didn't do anything. I am new to cameras, so any suggestions would be appreciated. I have searched this site for FCB with no luck, and have been unable to find a manual for the camera online.

Does anybody know of anywhere I can get estimates of how often motion triggers happen in given environments? The cameras will be in K-12 schools, set to record on movement. I apologize for the vagueness of the question, we are trying to figure out how big the drives will have to be to keep at least 14 days of video and we have no idea what percent of the time the data will be recorded. I have been given the task of using AutoCAD to create floorplans of the buildings we are responsible for, and have them show where the cameras are located. Are there industry standard icons for different types of cameras, and if so, where could get or see them? I will be using AutoCAD LT2008 if that makes any difference. Thanks for any help.

Is there any replacement for WaveReader that will run on intel Macs and connect to Kalatel DVRs? I am more of a computer techie than a camera/DVR guy. Is it all ActiveX based? If it is, I guess I am out of luck. I was using Parallels to run XP on my Mac, but just upgraded to 10.5, now Parallels won't run. Thanks
