Simply going by what I know if he has signs up letting people know they are being monitored in his facility then it is perfectly legal. He's simply trying to secure his business and his inventory which is not illegal under any circumstance. Now as far as your "break" area goes that would need to be a joint session between most if not all workers in the facility to explain to him the problems with putting a camera in the canteen. Hopefully he'll understand where you are coming from but if he does not then I would get dressed or change elsewhere. Good luck.

Sorry... I guess I'm not sure where you've seen this posted here concerning the fps. If you want to see a pc's fps www.fraps.com shows you a recording software that will give you a display of your fps in the bottom right corner. I apologize but I felt that was what you are looking for can you show me where this was so I can point you in the best direction I can think of. God... I hope scorpion don't see that I have failed you!

Almost all motherboards I've used have an option under the power menu in the bios for "After Power Failure" then gives you options of "Stay Off" or "Power On". That's my experience with the pc side of it. The Geovision side you simply need to install it and link the program into your "Startup" directory so the program will start with the computer boots up. FPS is frames per second. For a computer that can also be ... First Person Shooter (different subject). But as far as FPS for a computer the Frames it's referring to is how good is it's framerate under a large amount of stress. Best thing to do would be check geovisions website and make sure all of the specs of your build are compatible. Also I'm almost sure the OS is compatible with them but you may want to check. Why not just call them? 1-949-583-1519 (Geovision)

Is it a HQ or XQ dvr series? Sounds more like the HQ, if it is then simply shoot me a call at my office from on that lan and I'll get it up and running for you. When you look in the settings of the dvr it should be set to Static but it's rather tricky from the first shot I promise. I'll make it work I'm like 92% sure I can make it work! The IR lighting on IR cams outdoors aren't noticeable unless you are really close to the camera looking straight at it. The IR's are always lit up (fyi) and will remain lit as long as it's dark enough outside for the sensor to switch them on. Did you have any other questions?

Are you looking for Infared or simply B/W. If you're looking for a bullet without IR try our 3757. Infared you would want to go with a 2001BL or 2001BI (forget which) Or if you're looking at domes check out the 2001DBI (IR) or the 3441-3 (varifocal 3.5- B/W dome. Thanks, John

As far as digital zoom goes not concerning megapixel cameras I apologize. I was thinking of with PTZ's and other items like a Zoom camera that has a 18x zoom (optical) and then a 10X digital, I typically show the customer that the optical zoom is far superior to the digital zoom. With Megapixel cameras this train of thought may or may not always stand true tho, so I apologize for not making myself clear in the first post. Thanks, John

Me and you BOTH!!!Digital zoom is a very bad thing that was made to haunt CCTV security installers in their sleep! As far as bullets with it the smallest I know I can get my hands on is about the size of a box camera and has the RS-485 to where you can adjust it via remote software/dvr... basically a ptz. But more of a Zoom camera only. A still module if you would.... Thanks, John

I don't see why you have to get an attitude everytime you don't get an answer that you like. You really should consider not snapping at the hands that attempt to feed you. Gimp included in his post the normal questions any technician would ask when talking to a customer about ptz's. What kind of lighting in the scene? Let's us know if you need an IR ptz What distance will the camera be from the subject? Let's us know what zoom to recommend How will you control the ptz?Let's us know if you have a controller or a pc based unit that will control it. If you have neither we then have to find a controller as well. Is size or cosmetics important? Does looks matter, plain and simple. Internal or external? Inside facial or Outdoors facial Budget? If they recommend a $1,000+ ptz you're going to be cursing at them again... so they want to know the budget in which you have to work with so they will know what would be a good option to recommend to you. Can you answer the questions please so we would know what to recommend? Thanks,

It's hard to get facial ID from far away without a camera that you zoom into that area with. In my opinion either you're going to go for coverage on the entire area (wide) or you're going to go for a zoomed in spot hoping that whomever is vandalizing things comes into that specific area. I have a great unit that is easy for everyone that I've sold it to to use and see very few of them ever come back being defective. It's a DVR046 and it's located on our web page! If you would like to take a second you can go to our website and go to the bottom left menu named "technical support directory" and you may download the manual to the unit and look it over if you like.
