    Image bleed on AVTECH AVC787

I had this same thing happen to me on an avtech dvr a few times. All the channels bled into eatch others. I don't know of any fix for this, i tried to redo the firmware multiple times. Only think i knew what to do was send it back for repairs. I was told it was from heat from my eletricial tech.

    Tv out-multiplexor-switcher

try using a bcn T splitter if its possible, the cameras going to the card and the switcher
  4. I use belkins also, Never had ANY problems with them. I normaly use port 8000 for the port instead of 80.. Seems to work better, since some isps block port 80 (outgoing)
  5. Alot of times the power supplies go up in the avtechs. I've noticed this in many occurances. Check and see if your getting 19v with a meter. I forgot how mant amps it is exactly.
  6. Pay for a custom dns from dyndns dot com . Its what i do and alot of cctv companies do that rather than making their clients pay an extra 50.00 or so a month for a static ip, when you can have 75 aname dns entries (hosts) for 30.00 a year. Albert
  7. I use dvd xpress dx2. Its just a usb to rca and with nice software for recording... it works great and the police love the quality. adstech dot com/products/USBAV-709-EF/intro/USBAV-709_intro.asp?pid=USBAV-709-EF
  8. Ok guys i'm one of the few guys who does it all with the cctv business. I own the business, goto the appointments, take the tech calls, and installs them on my own. My question is what do you all take to the appointments as far as a demo. I have been taking a 15" lcd monitor and a "modified 4channel avtech dvr" with a few diffent types of cameras to show what eatch one looks like and the different angles and such. Just wondering if anyone knows where i can buy the complete setup in like a briefcase or a small bag. So i don't carry this bulky crap arround. All of my installs are Stand Alone, i don't trust PC's for surveillance. Just bad experiences with them in the past. (people playing with them and just unhooking them). So i'd need a standalone setup.. Albert

Why can't we make a balun?

I've never had any problems with that method. Color looks the same as it does on my longer runs. also i place all my wiring inside of steel conduit, as most of my installs are in factories and businesses.
  10. I Use eagle eyes, Btw where can i get that software again? I sell alot of nokia n95 smart phones (what i use now) and eagle eyes works great with these. I've been having to do a manual send with my minisd. Along with the connection, edge works great. Make sure you use a static ip, or get a dyndns host. Which i sell for a fee.. *dot eecctv dot net if anyone needs one. i can set it up and all also.

Why can't we make a balun?

I actually just use a RCA with a screw on terminal with a a rca to bnc connector. it cost like 2.00 or so. and works for runs up to 150' using cat5e. I also use cat5e for the run up the wall from the dvr for the power and video and split it off to coax if needed or just more runs with a 2pair 22g wire. I've been in this business for 5 years and have done every installation my self solo. This seems to the best way for it. Get the rca screw on terminal and rca to bnc at radio shack untill you find a dealer. I get mine free from my friend who owns a radio shack. Albert
