  1. I have just finished an install of a 7616 hybrid nvr for a client that uses only apple gear , I put one new Hik. ip camera on the unit and he is highly impressed he wants to change over to ip cam's as soon as possible. The app on his iphone and ipad work great but he cannot view them on his Mac "Yosemite", so I'm hoping that a solution can be found soon, there must be a lot of people with the same problem, I'm a bit surprised that nobody else has mentioned this before now.

  2. To those of you that have similar problems , the solution is to start the rectangle from the top left only , starting from any other point will not work, I have a habit of starting from every other spot but the correct one and occasionally by accident from the top left. I didn't come across this information anywhere in the user manuals. Now that I've found the solution I'm really pleased with the result.

Thanks for the help Securame but I could have done without your last comment, I spend most of my time solving other peoples problems and very often they are pebcak related !

  3. Unfortunately this method works about one time out of 20 which makes it completely useless. Is it the same for all Hikvision cameras even 5 MP cameras, if so I cant see the point in having a megapixel camera if you cant zoom in, does anyone know if they are planning to improve this or have a proper digital zoom using the scroll function on the mouse . It's a pity about this problem as it's about the only thing I dislike about Hik cameras

  4. This really is a shock, he has helped me often through the years on forums , I didn't know his age but he always came across as a person of about 35 years old which reflects on his character, but the real loss is for his family, I hope that you will feel some comfort in knowing that there are a lot of people on this forum that think very kindly about him and feel very much for your loss.

  5. You don't need to run a pc for ddns to work , the ddns client software runs on the camera, or you can put it on your router if it supports ddns, or any device behind your router , but first you have to register your domain name with no-ip or whatever ddns supplier you should chose and then put that name into the " Domain Name" in the ddns section on your camera. Also you only need only one ddns domain active on your network to access your cameras no matter how many cameras you have. When you have more than one camera you have to learn about port forwarding , but get the ddns working first.

  6. Hi, Does anyone know if there is a way of raising the threshold from which the camera changes from day mode to night mode . This camera gives excellent image quality in low light conditions but it changes way too early and doesn't make use of these qualities. If I put it in permanent DAY mode the IR illumination will not activate when it gets really dark and when I put it in Night mode I have a B/W camera 24/7 I have tried all the settings and nothing makes a difference . The only thing I can do is put the Day/Night setting to "Schedule" and it then switches to Night from a certain time at night .

    Any Ideas ?
