  1. Now that you have got it reset ( it looks like someone was playing with it before you received it and changed the password) Try the Browser interface , From Firefox or Chrome (not IE , its a nightmare) put in the ip address that you got from "SADP" and then you get a much more user friendly interface to set up your camera , when you go into "Configuration" on the top right there is a little blue circle with a ? in it , this will give you info about the segment of the configuration that you are in.

About the ISP changing the IP address You will have to use a DDNS to get around this I tried the Hiddns and found it confusing , so i use "NO-IP" DDNS ( I use it for a lot of things and it seams to be reliable )

  2. Wow , what a post , We have all been there ! but let me remind you, I'm sure it took you a long time to accumulate the knowledge and experience that you have in your field, so too in the video surveillance business It takes a long time also to learn and understand this field of work, so don't expect to understand straight off what people try to explain to you.

I'm sure the people on this forum will help you and share their hard earned knowledge.

First off , a 60 meter garden would require 2 cameras, you wouldn't see anything at the back with one .

You would need pir activated infra red lighting , some cameras would be good enough to do this on their own but the best solution would be to have a separate pir activated light connected to the alarm input on your camera , the reason being that a pir detector will only react to a difference in temperature that moves which means it wont react to tree branches moving thus creating less false alarm , The best type of sensor would be something like this [ http://www.instar.de/accessories/motion/in-motion-500.html ]

With regard to cameras , a i.3MP or 3MP outdoor camera would be sufficient , fixed in one position to cover the areas you need , if it had a 2.8 mm lens it should have a field of view of approximately 80' to 90', with 2 cameras , one at the corner of the house and on half way down the garden, with that you should cover the whole area. The camera choice then should only require outdoor weatherproof , poe (video signal and power combined in one cable ) , 80'-90' field of view ,1.3 or 3 MP . There is no point in paying for a camera that can do everything when you only need a few of its features so there are plenty of good reasonably priced cameras to suit you . I would personally point you towards Hikvision but there are lots of other opinions on this forum so best of luck , by the way this is a very brief un detailed description , if you want to learn more then you have to spend the time , it doesn't come easy.

  3. When using pir only, there is no way to see how well it works , sensitivity etc. its either on or off is there any way to see or adjust its sensitivity.

Another problem is you cannot see if it is recording when looking at the live stream, I know that with Geovision DVR the camera name changed color when motion was detected which was a great way of seeing how effective the sensitivity was on each camera vgft6

  4. Hi , This hik cube camera has been working perfectly via web browser , nvr , mobile , local network , and wan , but today I switched on everything and I cant connect from the nvr , when I click on the camera it says ... "live view failed".

Also I had difficulty accessing it via local web browser, It sometimes says at login ... "network abnormal" but sometimes works.

    It doesn't work remotely (wan)

IT does work on a mobile locally but not on wan, but it sometimes stops.

When everything stops working (link led blinks once per second) I reboot router and camera and nvr and I can access via web browser and mobile local but not via nvr.

The camera is a week old, any ideas.

    D.

  5. I would like to know if the ddns client is stored and run from the nvr or on the pc that I registered from. Also why do they have a nickname in the registration.

I don't understand this nickname thing it seams to be everywhere in their software , why not call it a camera name or nvr name ! ?

Confused ! but I'm making progress today !

  6. Just like to know if anybody has had the same problem.

I upgraded the a dvr , new motherboard/ GV card 1120-16 and software Version 8.5.9 but could no longer log in to GVAView or with i phone after a lot of trying I could only log in after I changed the password to a longer one 11 letters,

, also the dipmap ddns does not work anymore , it updates ok and everything looks fine but it will not take me to the dvr , I have to use a different DDNS service on a different computer to access the dvr !!!

  7. Update ... DON'T BUY ZMODO IP CAMERAS ... Well nothing has changed, no firmware updates or software updates , I asked for a RMA number to return the goods ( or should I say bad's) but they would not give me one . They didn't even refund me the money for a mini NVR kit with 2x cameras which I ordered and paid for but cancelled because they said that it was not ready yet as it was unstable ! ( well at least they were honest about that ) but they kept the money !

I had the misfortune to order direct from China so returning goods or getting refunds becomes difficult.

I need all these cameras to operate on motion detection so they are useless to me.

I hope this post serves as a warning to others , don't just buy from the spec. sheet, although the video quality was quite good on the ZH-IXA15-WAC, pity i couldn't record it to show you

  8. Thanks for the reply's guys, They finally got back to me with ridiculous suggestions to solve the problems, I tried some of them but then decided I'm not going to be a test engineer for them any more , so I have boxed the stuff up and its going back to China , Hope I get my money back (total including taxes and import duty 790 Euro)

Some people say well you get what you pay for , well I didn't , I expect to get exactly what I pay for and that includes what's on the spec. sheet.

I have ordered ONE camera from a German Manufacturer " INSTAR " It fits the criteria that I need , Lets see how that goes.

  9. Has anyone had any experience with Zmodo cameras/nvr's , I have searched on the internet and haven't seen any negative comments . I know they are a low priced product but that doesn't mean they shouldn't work. The requirements I need are wide angle lens ( around 80' to 90' ) , edge recording , remote view and remote playback , and motion detect , and of course reasonably priced . The interface needs to be simple for my clients. Is their software/ firmware so bad or am I doing something wrong, I have already emailed them a few days ago but still no reply.

  10. Hi, its been a long time since I have posted here but I have decided its time to change over from analog systems to ip , so after searching for a long time to find cameras and nvr's to suit my criteria I have finally settled with Zmodo. I have ordered several cameras and 2x nvr's to test , the results are not good.

    camera ZH-IXA15-WAC

Cameras stop streaming with error"the camera is closed for stream's wrong"

When I try to re open "this device cannot be connected"

The camera reverts randomly to default password

The camera will not record on scheduled or motion detect (even though the sd card is recognized on "storage management")

When configuring the settings , "motion alarm" reverts back to "sunday" after being set to "all" (days)

"Storage Management-video plans" reverts back to "schedule" from "motion"

Almost all of the above problems occur with camera ZB-IBH13-P also.

    Any Ideas ? Dominic.
