Phew just checking lol
The hikvision ip cameras just have way more noise then their hdtvi counterparts, they are just smoother and cleaner video in my eyes.
-
I have LTS(rebranded hikvision) hd-tvi 1080p 30fps cameras and 2.1 mp 1080p IP cameras also hikvision and I can honestly say the hdtvi has a better quality pic then the IP camera... Does anyone else see this or am I crazy?

ACti ENR 140
16 Channels
480fps @ 1080p
48 Mbps
Maximum 4 disks (disk not included)
iPhone, iPad, iTouch and Android device
$500 or best offer
-
Don't do it. Between LTS's new HD-TVI units and IP stuff... you can get it new and pure HD for that price and you'll 2 generations behind on HD security stuff.
My business advise to is to NOT BUY IT!!! tell him you don't want it. he's just trying to juice you for a few extra dollars... for $1250 you can put in a great 1080p HD system. 1 HD camera can cover 2 of the old cameras.

haha i know exactly what your talking about... i had an Acti dome mount screwed into sheetrock ceiling (not to tight) and took forever to get that dome onto the mount.. along with the ethernet cable in the hole it's really really a pain!!!
Next time i do one... i think i'm going to put some sort of "spacer" gasket on the wall mount. This way when i go to screw the dome on i don't have to push hard and slightly grind into the sheetrock lol
I think my "gasket" idea would work perfectly... it'll slightly raise the mount, will be solidly installed, and then much easier to get the dome mounted. But not to big of a gasket can't have the dome floating lol
and the how to screw holes thread was juuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuust a little off, not sure he understood what you were you were having problems with. those mounts leave almost ZERO room for error... and what if the sheetrock is not prefect.

Not funny ssmith10pn........
ok maybe it is a little bit lol
but seriously... this sucks... any other IP solutions that can possibly integrate with POS overlay?
-
Yeap i'm in New Jersey
i just fired up an old laptop and tried in IE chrome and firefox... and i've tried in 3 different locations... i'll try at my brothers house tonight on his mac that i've never attempted to post a new case... again... after i login and then "click here to submit new question... i get the error below thats a programming error i think not a browser error

Still no response from ACti... and their support page has been down for over a month.
And i had a regional sales person contact me 2 weeks ago... again with no response from her on POS overlay.
This isn't looking good... for support to be down for well over a month
-
Thanks Buellwinkle their support page is currently down so i'll send email to them asking about it and how it's done.

Can Acti camera/softweare overlay Ethernet POS printer info?
Just like the subject says a lot of newer Point of Sale Printers are Ethernet/network based thermal printers. Is there any way to overlay this info onto a camera? i know there were some serial based solutions for the BNC type cameras. But what about for IP Cameras?
thanks
-
And for storage? did you do NAS? Any recommendations?
-
i guess no way to do it i'll keep the main server and have all storage to to NAS
or just buy an acti DVR and get it over it. Just looking to have the smallest/simplest setup for a dvr
-
Just wondering how you would set up a NAS / acti cameras / then the main software.
Would the cameras still record to the NAS if the server software was off? or do i still need a PC running no matter what?
just trying to cut out the PC if possible

yeap its a CS mount lens.. i put on a 4.2mm lens and it looked good! And the D12 that i have also has audio and its decent. The only thing i would like to see better software options on video... it's pretty basic.
Even the dahua cameras you can select a small zone where you want the white balance to be. ie away from a window
-
its not bad at all just that any face further then 8-9 feet is a little washed out its a 2.xmm lens. so i'm going to add another one by the counter and face the door.
i'm looking around for the formula pixels vs distance vs lens for clear face shot.

And is this camera a M12 lens?
HD-TVI vs IP - tvi seems better?

Thanks boogie, The camera is in a cafe with a lot of Windows. Never thought thought of turning that down because of the brightness outside. I'll play with those settings today and try and get screen shots. Any other settings I should play with? Esp since it's looking at a window? saturation is one that I had to turn down.
