  1. Hi guys! Just after some help with CCTV system. I run a motorcycle shop, bought and fitted an Annke system for the business a couple years ago. Everything works great, ideal for my small shop. My main workshop is in the basement, so when I'm running the lathe/mill/grinder etc it can be a little hard to hear the door buzzer go (Buzzer is above my head when I'm on the lathe). So I thought I'd wall mount a spare monitor I had in the basement workshop, keep an eye on things while I work. Just a little run down on my viewing set up. I have a PC and monitor in my office. I use a HMDI switch box in the office so I can use the DVR on the office PC monitor (The DVR isn't connected to my PC, just the monitor) I thought I could just add a Y adapter in between my office HMDI switchbox (So the monitor could be viewing my cameras all the time), I ran a decent quality HMDI downstairs, plugged it in and thought it would work, but nothing, no input found on the basement monitor. The office monitor works fine, switches between Windows OS and the HVR fine (As it always had) I thought perhaps it was a resolution issue, conflicting between the two. The basement monitor was 720p and the office was 2K. So I switched the 720P out for a 1080P, changed it to 1080 within the Annke system but still no picture on the basement monitor. Would anyone know what I'm doing wrong here, can it be done? Hopefully it's something easy and I'm made to look like a fool. Any help would be great appreciated. Thanks!
