Anyone used this DVR? Just wondering what kind of monitor you use and the video quality on the screen, since it has a VGA output. Thx.
 -
Sorry, thought it only had VGA output.

How do I specify every 30 seconds? I ferget how to do this. I have every 1 minute currently. Thx. */1 * * * *

Thx. It is really quite sad what I have to do (but it works)... log into our Cisco router (currently every minute) and flush the Dynamic NAT table since the router crashes almost immediately if I do not. Even at 1 minute currently, the router sometimes crashes between the minutes. It is a temp fix until we get a better router and latest IOS.

If you go PC Based and Geovision, you can get your card from http://www.cctvsentry.com in Kingston, ON as they are an official GEO dealer. Terry is great to deal with. Hill's TV/Audio in Burlington, ON http://www.hillsvideosystems.com/ is where we get all our other stuff. Bit pricey, but convenient since a 20 minute drive. They also are a dealer for March Networks ( http://www.marchnetworks.com/ ), Panasonic, Sanyo, etc. MN and Panasonic DVR's are very expensive though. Well even the Sanyo DSR-3506 was over $3000 CAD for an end-user last time I checked. -
The Digia only has a VGA output for monitor? Are there VGA -> BNC adapters?

3.5" ATA 4200/5400 drives remind me of dot matrix printers, no one wants them, hard to find, etc. My laptop has a 5400 and it is pathetic. I am surprised 7200 has taken these DVR folk so long to upgrade to. They should be using SCSI or SATA by now. Geez.
 -
5400rpm? Are Sanyo's like that as well? That b slow. Thought my laptop only had 5400. It slower than molasses in January.

I thought Herm was in that Gun Debate video? Or was that someone else?

Perhaps check C:\WINDOWS\firewall.log (default location I believe) if Windows Firewall enabled and see if anything there. Make sure it is logging all successful and dropped packets, or dropped packets at least.

I not be understanding. If more than one camera is viewed on the Analog monitor with the 3009/3016, the display is NOT real-time? Thx.
 -
I also notice that the 3009 has digital i/o, RS-485, and RS-232 whereas the 3506 does not, at least from the blurry pics so for. Any others?

One of our crappy Maxtor 200GB's in our GEO setup at work started acting up after a year.
 -
Not that I know of. It just says V3 on it I believe.
 -
We were told we would need the S1 upgrade as well... but the dongle and v7 software worked fine.
