  1. No one has any ideas? Someone has to have some experience setting up alarms or door latches to trigger recording events. I'm not asking for a step by step just a point in the right direction
  2. Looking for some input on how to wire up an on/off switch for recording. The camera in question is an Axis 216fd. I am familiar enough with the camera, I have however never done anything with the alarm functions. It is my understanding that this is possible but under the event configuration in the on board axis software there is no "record" action when an alarm is triggered. I was also wondering about the digital input terminal (input 3). I attempted to make a switch using the 3.3vdc from terminal #2 and ground from terminal #1 and supplying that input into the digital terminal #3. This however did nothing except turn my camera off. (I assumed as a fault protection of some sort). I'm stupid and can't make this work. Please show me the way.
  3. Thanks for you help, I'll let you know how it goes i'm still fighting with this thing to reset to the defaults. Once I start over i'm going to stick with just the quick setup.
  4. Still the same using the quick setup. I poked around in the manual and google and couldn't find a way to reset the factory defaults so it might be my messing around with it that is causing the problem, but I am unsure. if it helps I am using a JVC VN-C205u camera Anyone know of to hard reset these things?
  5. Setting the operation mode to ALARM resulted in the same symptoms. It will record but quite delayed and only for a few seconds at a time, same as ACT DET. The VMD area is set to ANY AREA and sensitivity is HIGH I'm gonna try to figure out how to set it back to the factory settings and start over, and if that doesn't work I'm gonna see if I can get it to continuously record using the DURATION setting for VMD.
  6. I was wondering if anyone was familiar with this DVR and could give me some pointers on setting up the VMD properly. I have gone through all the setup and can get it to record on motion detection but it is quite delayed. If I physically shake the camera for a little while it will eventually begin recording, but will only record for a few seconds. What I need it to do is record instantly upon detecting motion and continue recording until it the motion stops. As of now I have the VMD area setup for "any area" The Event Program is set for "ACT DET" I'm not sure what I am missing to get this thing to function the way I want.
  7. I made a little bit of headway. I fiddled around with the Panasonic Alarm Protocol settings on my cameras (WV-NP244) and was able to get it to trigger the alarm on the NVR (WJ-ND200). It did not initiate recording though. I'm pretty sure this is the correct procedure for getting the NVR to record from the motion detection on the cameras, but I haven't gotten it all figured out yet. I'll post a solution whenever I get this crap figured out.
  8. Bought a WJ-ND200 NVR under the impression that it supported motion detection. I have covered the manual front to back and browsed through every option, but am unable to come up with any motion detection feature. Does anyone have any experience with these NVRs that can point me in the right direction for getting motion detection working. I feel like a dolt for not being able to figure this out. On Panasonics site, under the WJ-ND200 features tab it says MOTION DETECTION yes
