  1. Hello people,I hope you are all well. Just started to re-use my dvr again, having being dispondent on camera suction holders not being adequate. I decided to give the camera holder that I have a bash, and with success. Anyway,I'm mystified as to why the menu won't display on the Zate monitor,so I adjust to camera 1 or 2 etc. This is the dvr The only connection I do,is on channel one. Am I going wrong somewhere? thanks in advance Paul

    Invalid stream?

Hello people, I hope you are recovering well after the Christmas meal, and not feeling too bloated Anyway,I've getting my Labgear DVR up and running. I can't understand why it was asking for the password, which I don't know. I've shorten the jumper pins on the PCB and it worked for a short while so I can enter the menu. Afterwards it went back to requesting trhe password,I did the shortening method again, and went down the menu to Resore factory default, and no more password request. Anyway, having done some recording,I get the following I'd be grateful if someone can let me know what's causing it,thanks in advance. Paul

right...you chaps,Robbie and sigmaalpha. Because the OE cd-rom drive would not read the An-tone disc,I've know had the chance to install the cd-rom drive from my HP desktop,as I knew inhand that it was capable. I've got your email adress Robbie. @sigmaalpha,please PM your email address so I can attach them

4 pin mini din to 6.35mm jack plug?

aha...I see. I'll give a bash at the pin setup as what Ken has put. If no success,I'll just return it back to the seller,as the playback quality isn't great, and it stops recording whilst in record mode Superb Ken,most appreciated,I'll give it a try

4 pin mini din to 6.35mm jack plug?

Hello all, I've only seen 5 pin din/6.35mm jack adaptor, but not a 4 pin version. I'm aiming to upgrade the camera on a dvr equipment that uses a 6.35mm jack. The upgrade camera is a Nikkai, which has a 4 pin mini din(female). I've bought a 6.35mm jack and a male 4 pin, both solder on type, and 3 core cable. Could someone let me know what the pinouts are on the din? I think 4 is ground, referring to this picture http://www.siongboon.com/projects/2007-12-22_cable_wiring/connector/Mini%20DIN%204pin%20plug.png thanks in advance Paul

An-Tone DVR , cant find software.

Update: as I have the deskstar hdd with XP,I tried it in the HP desktop, didn't work. Something to do with motherboard compatibility, apparently. I now need another hdd to install windows onto the HP desktop sometime, not enough hours in the day working 60 hours a week
  8. Hello gang, Ok,I have had this DVR for a good while now,I sidelined it because I wasn't having successful installation onto my computer. So I'm having another bash at it. Firstly,I do suspect that it is the drivers in my computer that could be at fault, but could be wrong on that. I say that because I tried to install an Oregon ACT2K camera, that should have been plug and play, but wasn't installing. Anyway,I have the installed the data from the disc that came with the An-tone DVR,and I plugged in the DVR via usb. It goes through the usual,"new hardware found" and then it shows the "Mass Storage device" etc. On the finally step the pop-up balloon states that the device was not installed properly. When I switched on the computer this evening,a pop-up balloon appeared "Ports" and "New Hardware found" even though the DVR was not connected. So I connected everything and if you look at the pictures,it shows the process. I would be most grateful on your advice.

An-Tone DVR , cant find software.

Sorry Robbie,my computer crashed again. I think it might be to do with the ATI graphcs card, but none the wiser. I've now installed XP onto a deskstar 250gb drive. The drive that crashed is the 40gb. I decided to buy off ebay a genuine installation disc. But had a brain-wave,thought,why not try the Dell branded installation disc, and it worked on this non-branded desktop I'm using. I tried using the Product Key number on this desktop, which is Pro,but the disc is Home edition. So I used the PKN on the HP desktop, and it worked. I've tried the An-tone disc in the CD-Rom drive, but just spun up and has not been recognised. I'll get round to using the HP desktop soon, bear with please,ta.

    Window glare?

hello all,I don't know if anyone has their camera on a window sill, but I've recently been recording footage through the night, with the camera on the window sill facing the glass window. Unfortunately, when it's dark,a white glow from the camera is reflecting off the glass, then the recording is just a white glow. The camera I'm using a N35CX Your advice most appreciated Paul

    Window glare?

Thanks Soundy. Yes putting it outside would be the best option,it's having the cable placed through the wall. I should have done a google search beforehand,as there is another tip of placing the camera flush against the window.

    Event deleting?

I'm not too sure if all DVR's have the same system as mine which is a labgear similar to Maplin Swan's version. But I've tried deleting the Events as in the picture. I thought right clicking would do it,but no avail. Even tried the dvr itself via the menu on the monitor screen. Anyone else have one similar? thanks Paul

    bnc connector?

Hello all,as I am up and running now, with a new 4-channel DVR,I was just wondering on the method of connecting this type of bnc connector to cable? I have already attempted it. The threaded nut over the cable first which slides over the black insulator of the cable. Then the washer which is too narrow to slide over the black insulator, then the funnel shape bit,and then the orange bit. But the connector doesn't seem to bite on,or hold onto the cable. Your advise most appreciated Paul

    bnc connector?

Yes correct. I have FE99H which is the male side but maplin doesn't have an exploded picture like the female side. Nevertheless, thanks survtech,I now understand the fitment doesn't suit RG-59 cable

    An-tone 4 channel installation?

aha..interesting. 3 years on,and I reply . I have bought another one similar but with labgear brand. The An-tone that I have, didn't like the polarity change that I mistaken done. So it fried a little mosfet chip on the board.
