  1. Finally got my Kodicom card and sitesoftware to work(at last) In setup i checked all the boxes in advanced setup to c (continuous record) set all camera's to the same by using copy to all cameras, 16 although using 8 as it is an 8 way card. Every hour it randomly drops 10 mins recording time. The red bar that shows recorded data has gaps in. Any ideas?

Anyone here in the Hurrican path?

Quote .It just shows that the line between civility and lawlessness is very fine. Larry , never a truer word spoken. In retrospect, the area that is suffering the horror stories is/was a run down troubled area to begin with, i have a friend who is in he dome and has just been moved by the authorities to preserve his life. It appears the government are addressing the situation and help is at hand, (for those that want it)

Anyone here in the Hurrican path?

I cant agree more, America went into Iraq with a complete infrastructure plan and they had to fight a war first. They have surely messed this one up, can they not help their own? Ive followed the news on this one and its disgusting, superpower?

    Picture Problem

If they have seperate psu's check they are outputing enough power, if the psu is too small an output, this will create problems.

    Picture Problem

CT100 is cable, supplies have disappeared since the manufacturer "Raydex" was taken over. Rory, look on it as an upmarket RG6, used mainly in the installation of sattelite tv, which is low loss and suited to external situations better than RG6. hundleton1, if its any help H109 is a similar cable to CT100, although RG59u should have no issues at 30m unless you are using twist on connectors. Geo Vision GV800 web server close error

Hi, typical causes of this are virus protection, anti spyware, messenger servers and firewalls. Either disable them one by one (if you have them) or adjust the settings in their software to allow connection.

    RS-422 / RS-485 Controller or Receiver

This will handle the rs232=485 side of things . http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/RS232-to-RS485-conveter-for-CCTV-DVR-and-PTZ-head_W0QQitemZ5799804588QQcategoryZ60839QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem These hanle 12v input as i have one so all your connections are in one place. As for the lens end of things, you have to work out what it requires in terms of power/signal to make it tick. Scour the net for diagrams and pdf's, its all a bit trial and error but you know that anyway Theres loads of odd bits and bobs floating around on ebay for cents that will work in some way. Good luck

    VGA for geovision reccomendation

For gv-1000 minimum is Nvidia gforce11 MX20064mb, i have this card with gv-1000 and it works fine. Any AGP type video cards that support DirectX 9.0 or above. De-interlace function support is a preferred option. If you plan to use Real time Display (DSP) card that outputs up to 480fps onto NTSC/PAL TV, you need to use the following types (or newer models) of video card, such as: Geforce 2 or above AGP cards ATI Radeon 7000, 7500, 9000, 9500 AGP cards

Great CAMERA sources in Los Angeles

hmmm, i know quite a few .. off topic
  12. Ant, have you tried a vodafone data card? You can fit one via CF card adapter, this allows full internet access at adsl speed. Its a clever bit of trickery as when 3g is not available it automatically swithes to GPRS. I use one on my Dell X50v and it works well.

Great CAMERA sources in Los Angeles

Levon , thats a mighy impressive website. No pelco tho
  14. Camera first, if you cut the cable short the connection is internal
  15. scott , I know you are the man for Geo,but my system does not restart on video loss , with dongle (ver 7.0) or without dongle (ver 6.0) Ive unplugged a camera to invoke video loss, and it still runs?
  16. Well mine dongly doesn't.
  17. I dont think losing a signal will make the pc re-boot, unless thats the way it is set up. I lose a signal now and again due to a bad cable i need to replace, and all i get is a video lost screen on that camera. If the setup under sys config is selected to re-boot it will, if its not ticked it will just run.
