DVR does not show ip cams in SmartPSS

Got it, just a simple click on the dvr and view all channels.
  2. Hi, I just loaded SmartPSS on a new Mac, I added my Tribrid-DVR into devices and all of my CVI cameras show but the IP cameras do not. What setting am I missing? Thanks!
  3. Hi, Hi, I have a 8 channel Dahua tribrid DVR with 4 cameras and I am unable to change the encode setting on the IP cameras to VBR, it will change on the menu item but not save. These cameras are used to capture vehicles coming into our neighborhood. I notice at times that the image is good for the first frame or two, then gets pixelated. to troubleshoot this I was thinking of changing the encoder bit rate type of the cameras to VBR from CBR to help maintain the video quality, but my changes do not save. So two questions, first will changing the bit rate to VBR help my motion images? Second what is preventing this change from being saved? My camera encode settings h264, 1080p, 5fps, 2048 bit rate. Thanks, Gary

    Need networking help with DVR

Ok, it is restored... I now know how to restore the video server from a factory reset. Still unable to receive stream from video server at the dvr.

    Need networking help with DVR

Ok, I tried to change port, to 81 now I cannot connect to the server at all even over the web. I checked to make sure that port 81 was open. I can't even locally connect using a crossover cable to restore the port back to 80. I can ping it though, what could be blocking my access even locally?

Thanks Harrar for your help. Just wanted to be clear, that the second vs-02 in being connected to via the web, by it's own IP address established by the internet provider. So I must maintain that address, but should I still change the port to maybe 82? Thanks

Thanks for your replies...It turned out to be a bad router, replaced it and was able to restore it's settings...mostly from your postings...and everything is working great... except.... here it comes.... Except for a second VS02 video server that has a static IP over the web, I installed like the other one, other than it is on the WAN, I have both ports 80/10000 open in the router. Any thoughts are much appreciated. Really... " title="Applause" />

    Need networking help with DVR

Sorry if I am unclear, but basically our system begins with our Geovision DVR and GV-VS02 videoserver connected to a netgear wireless router on their own LAN 192.168... Which is connected to the cable modem for the internet which has a static IP. When the PC is connected to the router on the LAN, I cannot surf the internet. If I bypass the router and set the pc's address to the static ip of the cable modem and plug directly into it, I can surf the web. I have checked the webserver settings they appear correct. The video server is not sharing port 80. Thanks for your help.

I reinstalled the GV software. The router settings have not been changed. I can only access the internet when using the cable modem's static ip, not when using the LAN ip address. Webserver is running. Yes I can access the DVR from another computer on the network using the LAN address. I am unsure where the setting is for the http port 80, is that in the firewall, if so I opened that. Thanks, Gary

First of all thanks, I checked everything that you mentioned I had the IP address correct, I had to add the gateway and DNS but still no luck.
  11. Just had to replace the motherboard on our DVR system and now I am having trouble getting connected to the internet on the computer. The company who installed system is no longer in business so I am taking a stab at getting the system back up. Our system is running with XP and a GV2008 card, ver 8.2. the network connections are into a netgear wireless router , also connected to the system is a GVVS02 video server. The network for the system is using 192.168.1.1, and the internet is a static ip. I am able to connect to the video server so that end of the network is working, I do not know what setting I am missing to also connect to the static ip for the internet. I have looked into the settings in the router to see what address I should be using but I am not having much luck. Any guidance would be much appreciated, Thanks.
  12. Does anyone have any experience with the DV DSP LPR V2? Mainly I am interested in knowing how well does it work in a stand alone situation? Is this a good alternative to using the DV-LPR Software ? Does it have a good capture percentage? Can it be integrated to the LPR software?

    LPR Software Stops Capturing

Our LPR Software 3.05 used with an GV-2008 Card frequently stops capturing. I have a hard time getting it started again after many attempts of rebooting and stopping and starting monitoring, I will get it going again but am unsure of what actually starts it or why it stops in the first place.
  14. We have a 2008 card and running V8.2 We had a company servicing our system who has now gone out of business. To remotely login using multicam it was directed thru their website which is now offline. They are unreachable so I cannot get any help from them. I want to reset our internet connection information but I am unable to find where this is done. Any help would be much appreciated. Gary

Long periods of no recording during recorded clips

A guy helping me with this worked with the install company to make sure that we were using components that met the specs...he discovered that the first DVR that they installed did not and made them change it. I will check on the specs later and post asap. And I will check if the card is genuine as well. Thanks!
