    the Kodicam says max480 @CIF not d1

unless I should buy a 16 channel DVR and only use 4 channels???

    The CDP507 states:

    Maximum Recording Rate Frame: 720 x 480 pixels with 120 IPS NTSC / 720 x 576 pixels with 100 IPS PAL

    Field: 720 x 240 pixels with 240 IPS NTSC / 720 x 288 pixels with 200 IPS PAL

    CIF: 352 x 240 pixels with 480 IPS NTSC / 352 x 288 pixels with 400 IPS PAL

    Adjustable Recording Speed Frame: 120, 60, 30, 15 IPS / 100, 50, 25, 12.5 IPS

    Field: 240, 120, 60, 30 IPS / 200, 100, 50, 25 IPS

    CIF: 480, 240, 120, 60 IPS / 400, 200, 100, 50 IPS

Image Quality Setting Best, High, Normal and Basic

for a 16 channel DVR it is the same and the connection to image quality for frame rate is not connected but my experience is the faster the rate the lower the quality to achieve it. so the quality will be basic the rate will be 7.5.

Is there a DVR that records 4 or 8 channels at 30 fps, at D1, with best (high) quality,- on all channels -at the same time?- not one at a time.

    Or am I just dreaming?

  3. Daryl733 you quote a dvr that can record D1 on all channels at the same time but it's not practical. can you give me some honest examples of an 8 channel DVR that can do this with very good picture quality at 30 frames per channel, disregarding memory storage requirements for now - will add it myself, and at a reasonable price? I'm looking to seriously upgrade. Currently have EX82, EX40, and Pano 484 cameras

  4. Rory, I have used heat shrink and this stuff called liquid electric tape in rc model boats and subs where the connections are under water and constant direct contact with the water without problems, even at high speeds and rough water. Done it for years without a single short or break. of course this is fter soldering the connection.

  5. Ok, educate me...

I bought the extreme ex82 camera with the black diamond ir and was so impressed I bought another. THe first one came with their power supply exps.008 24v 1A, the new one came with the exps.009 24v 2.5A. I'm told they are discontinuing the exps.008.

so my question is, is there going to be a difference in performance and do I need to be concerned about either one. The pdf page lists the exps.009 as the correct power supply.

    Thanks,

  6. The picture is good day and night for angle, less than 45 degrees, picks up faces at door and truck in driveway, just a bit grainy at night. In fact, faces are washing out at the door with added IR. Looks like a light white rain at night without another light on in addition to IR.

  7. Will post some soon. The foam is pushing on the dome, frankly, it can make it a bit difficult to seat the dome. It clears up when I turn on the outside lights and even irises down, so I just need more light consistantly. Added a Ex26 illuminator before but it evidently still isn't enough. Just Spoiled now that I am comparing it to the ex82 I guess.

  8. Got the mic installed (finally), MY fault it took so long, though it works great , still testing limits and limitations. I had a little difficulty wiring, tight spacing and directions, and contacted the company, ETS, Inc. Wound up sending it back for them to check out. It IS difficult to wire up as the designer was the tech for it, and he admitted he had to resolder it 3 times himself to get connection connected. I expect a minor redesign in the future to simplify connection. They shipped it back already connected to their own wire for free and no charge for the wire. Kept me informed through the whole process and right there when called for assistance. Can't say enough about the good service. I recommend then highly.

    Will update again...

  9. I just heard that the apartment complex my son in law lives in is adding security cameras. I was wondering if any of you guys got the job. It's in Middletown, NY? Scotchtown actually. Thought I might say stop by and say Hi and thanks for the help in person.

  10. thanks scorpion,

    I am using this microphone

    http://www.etsnm.com/pdfs/SM1-WBM.pdf

    with this recommended interface

    http://www.etsnm.com/pdfs/interface_1.pdf

connected to the speco t4ip dvr

using the shielded 2 stranded 22 guage wire they recommended. there is only a black and a white wire and the shielding so I don't know which to connect unless the power is going through the audio strand and the shield is the common ground.
