I did have a cgi script you add to the folder where motion images are stored and it generates a web page with thumbnails, I'll find it and post links later.
What software are you using to generate the codes?
-
-
did they give you the telnet password?
-
leave it on for a while then try and see if the search tool detects it after 30 mins
-
did you upgrade direct from the nvr or the search tool?
-
what is on the screen when you turn it on?
-
can you detect it on your network using the tool?
if so try the firmware update again
-
did you use the search option to find your NVR?
or did you do manual entry

There were 3 firmware files from xvision
the first failed twice then worked
2nd file worked
3rd file failed once then worked
I did them 1 by 1

Blue is for schedule record and the yellow is for Motion

I tested the motion detection on my Avtech AVN701 after watching a howto video for the Xvision NVR, I think these options are all in the stock firmware that we all have, now that I have the Xvision firmware I cant go back to check.
Motion detection worked fine. I made a video on how I did it so you can see the correct way to set it up

I will test the motion detection today and update you in a few hours. I did the update using the Xvision ip tool available on the link.

I did a little research and found this NVR to be sold under a few different brands, the main one being Xvision.
I downloaded the Xvision firmware and and IP tool and installed the Xvision firmware onto my NVR from :
http://hdcctv.myshopify.com/pages/downloads
The firmware seems to be similar to that supplied with the NVR but the menu is alot easier to navigate. It only gives 2 options of 1080p and 720p including substreams.
I have been using an app called Goolink to access the NVR from my iphone and android tablet.

I got 8 feeds to my NVR, and cant get motion to work on any.

What firmware version do you have and have you tried WI-fi? the supplier told me he has tested it with most wifi adapters and it should work, i have tried about 5 different adapters and cant get a stable connection. I have also noticed I am not getting the full resolution from my cameras, but for £28 I paid this is what i expected.

I got my mini nvr yesterday with the same v4 firmware. It detected only 1 of 3 onvif cameras, the others I used the RTSP link to get them connected which was easy enough.
Motion detection does not work at all, im recording straight onto a usb portable hdd even though the ad said its eSata only.
Wifi work with a couple of usb dongles I tried but the connection only lasts for a few mins, I need to find out which is the best dongle to use.
I have connected the following cameras all AVTECH: AVN80X , AVN304, AVN801, AVN812, AVN701, KPD675(DVR).

Have a look at the AVN812 type of IP camera from AVTECH, it's wireless so no wiring apart from power, has push/motion alerts sent direct to your apple/android device. it and it works fine on my macbook. It saves around 4 5 second videos on board and I have mine set to upload all motion videos to FTP/cloud.

Has anyone tried this nvr with AVTECH ip cameras? I have the avn80X,801,812,304,701 and was wondering if they would work.
-
The AVTECH range of DVR's provide excellent live view and playback direct from the DVR not cloud, they do have a range of IP cameras which store footage on the cloud, its the models ending with EZ. I use the KPD675 DVR.
-
The avn801 has a mic so its 1 way audio. they all have i/o ports on the back so you can attach something like a ir light or led board via a relay/transistor switch so it comes on when the camera detects motion.
-
I have a KPD675, I also have a mini PIR sensor that has a signal pin that outputs 3.3v when motion is detected, If I was to connect that 3.3v pin and the gnd pin to the Input on the DVR would it work or would the 3.3volatge damage it?
-
Around 5 meters detection range on mine, slighly less on my AVN80X but that may be due to the way its located, but remember the AVN series have I/O pins for external pir/sensors.
