CCTV in the movies?

Recommended Posts

I watched Terminal with Tom Hanks today. It had a few cctv scenes in it. And actually it had a good PTZ scene.

Does anyone else know of any good cctv scenes in other movies?

Generally they make me whimper. Mostly for the CSI "we'll take a digital image and see the name of a boat off of the reflection off of a woman's eye which we're seeing in the reflection of some chrome". God I wish I was kidding about that scene.

yeah one with Nicholas cage, where he was a cop in Atlantic City, cant remember the name though, they had PTZ in the casino and were zooming in and out.. Oceans 11 also.

I think they must hide the actuall name brands or details of the hardware, maybe to save on having to dish out money to the manufacturers, or the manus would not pay to advertise?

Oh yeah, the bourne iDentity also, but looked like what they were doing was near impossible! Maybe with a Megapixel IP camera, but still didnt seem right ..

Thomas,

Is it true that it works best with blonde women that have blue eyes ....

Personally, I feel an overwhelming urge to throw myself under a bus, everytime I see CCTV in the movies.

I did once hire out some gear to a production company for a TV movie. It looked quite impressive on screen, and then they sent the equipment back .... burned to a crisp!

The director thought that by setting fire to it, there would be a more impressive artistic effect. I don't think he was that impressed when he got the bill for replacement!!

Delighted to hear it Thomas,

hang on a minute ...... yep, just checked Mrs Cooperman, and it works with hazel eyes too. I'm getting a bit of a funny look though....
