Help choosing an IR camera

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I need a day/night IR capable camera for outdoor use.

I need a range of at least 15m in a pitch black night (ie 0 lux) as well as a clear daylight picture.

I am in Australia, and can't get one in a store for less than Aus$200-$300+.

However, I have found these 2 on ebay that seem ok on face value, but would like help in deciding which (if any) is best for my purposes and budget. Unfortunately they don't list a manufacturer so I haven't been able to find any reviews on the web. It's also not indicated whether the first one has a sony had ccd..

Hi,

i also recommend CNB products.

the two products you are thinking to choose may be good even made in China but when i see the selling price you wrote, they can be poor quality ones.

you should look for high spec like

Sony 1/3" Super HAD CCD

540 Color TVL

ICR

IR LED over 25pcs (enough for 20m view at night)

IP66~67

or Brand products such as CNB, KT&C and Taiwanese ones.

These two camera come from China, if you need clear image in night, you can choose the second one, there has one color CCD board, another one with B/W CCD board for night.

if you doesn't need so good image, and need cheaper one, you can choose first one. but it looks too long distance for you, 48 LEDs can be used for 30-40m distance, you just need 15m, you can choose more cheaper used 24 LEDs.
